No QB is doing sh*t behind this o-line period (ESPECIALLY a rookie QB). You have to build an elite o-line first, then any decent QB can get you to the playoffs, THEN you find your gem in the draft.

This is another denial excuse our o-line missed blocks I agree played below average but on several plays they gave the ample time and he couldn’t hit basic out routes. Why are we looking to blame everyone else other teams have bad o-line play and plays are made. Cam can’t make basic plays from the first quarter to the the fourth. He had Samuel on a easy walk in td and could barely get it to him my FAVORITE QUARTERBACK Is Finished it’s not about o line yea they are below average does that stop you from throwing a walk in td to a wide open man no his accuracy and arm strength are the reason. Time to move on.

That game really had me, for the first time, thinking this was the end or winding down to the end of his career with the team. That performance was pitiful and inexcusable. The defense showed up to play for the most part but weren't consistent. Between Cam, the OL, and play calling, coaches need to go with Ron out first.

Staying with what we have: I mean...maybe? Probably not though. The only way I see Kyle Allen or Will Grier getting extended playing time here is if Cam pulls a Luck and ups and retires early this season. Allen doesn't seem like a guy with a lot of staying power in the NFL. Frankly, neither does Grier, but at least he has the pedigree where you could see him improving to the point where you can trust him to start a game.

Free agent QBs in 2020: Not surprisingly, the cupboard is pretty bare here. It's full of guys like Brees and Brady that aren't going to another team and a lot of trash like Blake Bortles. The only possibility here is Marcus Mariota.

QBs coming out in the draft: Tua is the obvious name here, but the Dolphins look like they're going for 0-16, so I don't see any way we finish with the #1 pick. So if we finish with, say, the fifth pick, we're looking at guys like Justin Herbert of Oregon, Jake Fromm, and KJ Costello of Stanford.

So, with Cam being done, the future doesn't look bright. I don't know how exciting Herbert and Fromm are. Herbert is a tall 6'6 guy and is surprisingly mobile too, but he often makes poor decisions with the ball and has a significant injury history already. Fromm is a little on the small size for NFL starting QBs and doesn't have a super strong arm, but he's extremely accurate with ball placement, something that would be a godsend here. I think Fromm is the best choice of all these unless you want to hold out hope for Trevor Lawrence.

I like option 1 but like you I can't see it happening. We need to reset and to do so we need high picks. Having wasted a third on Grier we should put him in. He can have his shot and if/when he fails we will be able to pick high.

My fear is that we won't be competitive but not bad either  That's the worst place to be. We need to be ready to compete when Brees and Ryan call it a day.

lol at all the chalkboarding from Clemson fans whose insane battle strategy conveniently culminates in the Panthers getting a player from their favorite amateur football program

You don't throw multiple seasons away just to get huddler Johnny's favorite college player

Let's just stop wasting the bandwidth right here on that

I agree it's probably wishful thinking. I'm not convinced Trevor Lawrence is as good as people say and that his body would be able to hold up in the NFL. Think about what's happened to Cam's body and then imagine Chicken Legs Lawrence taking that same beating.

Im not suggesting throwing anything away on purpose.  Im saying if things stay the way they are, and they stick with the people they have now, the first pick in 2021 will be a certainty.  No active tanking necessary.....just keep doing what you are doing now.

I'm not saying Cam is without fault. He's had a couple bad games. But not many QBs would do better with the lack of talent and uninspired play around him.

J. Winston did better.

I (sort of) admire the hold outs, but I give you 1-2 more games before you drop the “Cam is still great” routine.

Cam ain’t done. Don’t be a fan later. Maybe it’s the foot, idk, but they got Cam playing in a box trying to be Tom Brady of someshit.

Cam has and always will have some accuracy issues, but we have parked the traits that make him unique and transcendent.

I cant believe how many people want to turn their backs and say he’s done

You really want him to run around taking even more hits in the shape that his body is in? He is already broken from years of having no protection. Why would you want him to take more hits?

I'm not on the Tua train like most of you are. I'm not a big fan or Herbert either. Honestly think we should have taken Jared Stidham instead of Will Grier to be honest but I do like Fromm going forward.

Or Minshew who was to be had in the 6th.

He doesnt take hardly any big shots when he runs, he has learned the art of sliding.  Hes getting destroyed in the pocket so far this year......
