I've defended Cam for years when he's needed defending. I call it straight. The O-line wasn't good, but neither was Cam.

You might not agree, but Cam was a worse QB than the O-line was a bad O-line.

Anyone who wants to blame the receivers is just delusional in my opinion.

bruh... he sucks, he has been missing passes for too long. I know it's tough at 18 to grasp this concept, but he is terrible as a pocket passing QB

I wouldn't go as far to saying he sucks. He has been a one man show for so long with little offensive weapons around him do whatever he can to will us to a win. He isn't a great pocket passer and the coaching staff SHOULD know this but they obviously don't so the ship has sunk.

This is no longer a debate. Whether you want to blame injuries on Rivera and the offensive line, you can't deny they're there and they're not going away. Cam Newton is absolutely washed and this is no longer up for discussion. Time to move on after this season. I will always be a fan of his personally for all the things he did for this city and team, but that fandom doesn't translate into me wanting to keep a physical shell of that quarterback past the point where he can play effectively.

This my friends, is what facing the truth looks like.  Well done.

STFU You're a bandwagon fan of the Patriots. That means not only are you a soulless Alejandro that likes to flaunt his money to make himself feel better, but you're also lower than scum IRL.

Staying with what we have: I mean...maybe? Probably not though. The only way I see Kyle Allen or Will Grier getting extended playing time here is if Cam pulls a Luck and ups and retires early this season. Allen doesn't seem like a guy with a lot of staying power in the NFL. Frankly, neither does Grier, but at least he has the pedigree where you could see him improving to the point where you can trust him to start a game.

Free agent QBs in 2020: Not surprisingly, the cupboard is pretty bare here. It's full of guys like Brees and Brady that aren't going to another team and a lot of trash like Blake Bortles. The only possibility here is Marcus Mariota.

QBs coming out in the draft: Tua is the obvious name here, but the Dolphins look like they're going for 0-16, so I don't see any way we finish with the #1 pick. So if we finish with, say, the fifth pick, we're looking at guys like Justin Herbert of Oregon, Jake Fromm, and KJ Costello of Stanford.

So, with Cam being done, the future doesn't look bright. I don't know how exciting Herbert and Fromm are. Herbert is a tall 6'6 guy and is surprisingly mobile too, but he often makes poor decisions with the ball and has a significant injury history already. Fromm is a little on the small size for NFL starting QBs and doesn't have a super strong arm, but he's extremely accurate with ball placement, something that would be a godsend here. I think Fromm is the best choice of all these unless you want to hold out hope for Trevor Lawrence.

Are people still interested in seeing Colin Keeparnick come to Charlotte?

I would much rather go for a QB next year:

Tua has the easiest job in college football playing behind an NFL team.

Fromm can’t win important games.

Herbert can’t win the regular games to get to important games and statistically hasn’t even been as good as Mariota.

Hurts isn’t an NFL QB.

If you are going for a QB you go all in for the year after and try and snag Lawrence or Fields and I’m sure there will be another 3-5 guys who generate enough hype behind them to make it a solid class.

If we were to sign him in the offseason with the intention of being a starter, it will have been after he missed 3 seasons. I would have had no problem signing him if we had been in need of a QB in 2017, but the Kaep ship has sailed imo.

We need to start making moves now to set ourselves up with enough ammunition to get ourselves into position to draft Lawrence in 2021. That potentially means trading away some franchise pieces to get 1st round picks.

Only players we have who would potentially garner a first round pick would be Luke and CMC.

As much as it pains me to say it, moving Luke for a first is probably the smartest thing this franchise could do right now if Cam is indeed done.

Then you Trade your top five pick this year for two future firsts in 2021 and 2022. That would give you three firsts in 2021. Plenty of ammo to go get your franchise in 2021 and potentially pair him with another first round pick.
