Here are our post-Cam options

Staying with what we have: I mean...maybe? Probably not though. The only way I see Kyle Allen or Will Grier getting extended playing time here is if Cam pulls a Luck and ups and retires early this season. Allen doesn't seem like a guy with a lot of staying power in the NFL. Frankly, neither does Grier, but at least he has the pedigree where you could see him improving to the point where you can trust him to start a game.

Free agent QBs in 2020: Not surprisingly, the cupboard is pretty bare here. It's full of guys like Brees and Brady that aren't going to another team and a lot of trash like Blake Bortles. The only possibility here is Marcus Mariota.

QBs coming out in the draft: Tua is the obvious name here, but the Dolphins look like they're going for 0-16, so I don't see any way we finish with the #1 pick. So if we finish with, say, the fifth pick, we're looking at guys like Justin Herbert of Oregon, Jake Fromm, and KJ Costello of Stanford.

So, with Cam being done, the future doesn't look bright. I don't know how exciting Herbert and Fromm are. Herbert is a tall 6'6 guy and is surprisingly mobile too, but he often makes poor decisions with the ball and has a significant injury history already. Fromm is a little on the small size for NFL starting QBs and doesn't have a super strong arm, but he's extremely accurate with ball placement, something that would be a godsend here. I think Fromm is the best choice of all these unless you want to hold out hope for Trevor Lawrence.

Only 2 QBs id want to draft as the Franchise QB in the 1st

Tua and Herbert

When we get a new staff in place, id be willing to throw a lot of picks ti trade up for one.  We already have too many good players in place to wait a nother full process rebuild.  We have vets who can't wait that long.

We saw this with Philly and Wentz.  People questioned what they were doing but they looked like genius

This is no longer a debate. Whether you want to blame injuries on Rivera and the offensive line, you can't deny they're there and they're not going away. Cam Newton is absolutely washed and this is no longer up for discussion. Time to move on after this season. I will always be a fan of his personally for all the things he did for this city and team, but that fandom doesn't translate into me wanting to keep a physical shell of that quarterback past the point where he can play effectively.

It was about 60% on Cam

Terrible playcalling last night and OL was terrible

But there were time Cam had the time.  And he flat missed easy throw.  Consistently put the ball 5-10 yards over the WR head on any throw further than 10 yards.  Behind people, at guys feet, etc.  He was awful last night, there is no way to defend him

You're looking at him with agenda-eyes. Your viewpoint is disregarded.

He also has WRs and OL out there half-assing it and a coordinator and head coach who doesn't know wtf is happening, Yang gang.

The WRs were hardly half-assing it. Samuel should really be thinking "What the fug?" Or "I'll be got damn." He's not gonna say it, but he should be thinking it.

lol @ thinking it isn't.

When your QB goes 24/50 (48%) and 5/13 (38%) on third down, and adds a turnover, you point the finger directly at him.  When your QB misses open man after open man and the balls aren't even close, you point the finger directly at him.

I'm sure he'll have at least another 8 games or so to prove that he's still an NFL QB.  Good for him.  However, I'm becoming increasingly skeptical that Cam will ever be Cam again.  It's exactly what many people said early in his career:  He can't play this way and have longevity.

I will be happy to be proven wrong over the rest of the season.  I'll be thrilled to see Cam turn into an NFL QB again.  I'm rooting for him.  But right now, the returns indicate that Cam may be done.  I wasn't willing to say that until I saw him play.  Now I've seen it.  It's not pretty.
