Official Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Carolina Panthers Gameday Thread!

Hello there ladies and gents.

Welcome to the second gameday of the season.

Tonight out beloved Carolina Panthers host the Buccaneers of Tampa Bay in their first divisional matchup of the season.

Television: NFL Network, Fox 46 (Charlotte area)

Radio: 1110am, 99.3 fm

Keys to Panthers Victory

1. Get those turnovers. The Bucs will cough up the ball at times tonight. The Panthers must be ready to capitalize. Fall on it, cover it up.

2. Spread the ball around. Would love to see 6 players with multiple receptions after it's all said and done.

3. Punch them in the mouth. They are coming off a tough home loss on a shirt week. Punch them in the mouth in the first quarter and break their will. Go up 14-0 quickly.

As always, this thread is for general gameday banter. Please do not start reactionary topics in the forum. Well thought out topics always welcome.

Let's go Panthers and Keep Pounding!

I'm suppose to be working now, but I can't do anything. My mind is consumed with what if's, could be's, will this or that happen, will I have any fingernails left, what time is it now, I still hate the patriots, we going to win this one, we gonna lose this one, will I be crying happy tears we doing good or I'll cry in bathroom puking and punching pillows.  I can't think clearly, need this game to hurry up so I can have some closure!  LOL

I do hope we spread the ball around more, but I don’t believe that’s why we lost last week. We have to protect the football. We turned it over 3 times and still came close to winning. I don’t heap blame on Moore for the fumbles. First was a great defensive play, the other was a great defensive play.....although I still question it was a fumble. Don’t turn the ball over and this one is ours convincingly.

    • his height, size and arm will forever cause problems and limitations...that is what it is.  I think to a degree, the law of averages is just coming into play a bit with him.  So as he plays more and more, you just flat out get the decent days mixed in too.  Which is just going to happen.
    • Good point. He's definitely better in 10-15 yards. I think that's his biggest improvement. But he wasn't 3-10 +15, he was 3-7, with at least one drop (minor but still). And with multiple passes at 14 yards completed. This passing chart doesn't look like at By one, lol. He threw more "deep" passes than Mahomes (NOT comparing him to Mahomes in a skill way lol), or at least more beyind 10 yards.
    • Karlaftis and Danna have been pretty inconsistent so teams have been doubling Jones and able to contain their pass rush.   But the good thing is that yesterday, we schemed well against Steve Spags Defense, Canales married the surrounding personnel with his QB through play designs within his comfort zone and was able to get downfield at will.  He was able to execute higher difficulty throws and look a lot more comfortable.  It tells me that Canales has a good system in mind, and had an edge gameplanning wise against Spagnuolo - which is nice to see.  It's a bit to see-saw at times with either going way too pass heavy or way too run heavy, but I think he's finding out what works.  It takes time to have it come together, and sure, I could see regression happen against a better front-7, but this was good for the entire system gelling.
