DO NOT worry about "Panthers need to blow Bucs out"

I keep hearing people say, "if we do not beat the Buccaneers 45-10 this game it is not a success"... To use the notion of blowing the Bucs out of the stadium as a barometer of the season is just setting yourself up for disappointment. Listen, this is the NFL... In today's NFL, not very many wins come easy. The Bucs are coming off of a loss as well and they have a good, proven coach that will most likely have them focused. Plus, this is a divisional game, and I just wonder if there is a stat somewhere that shows what the percentage of divisional games are blowouts, particularly in the NFC South. My money would bet that it isn't a very high percentage.

First of all, "JUST WIN BABY", we all know these games can be hard fought, no matter the opponent. As long as we see FIGHT in this team and guys stepping up and improving from week one, even if we just win by a point, who cares? Winning is contagious, and the Panthers just need to get back to that mantra first and foremost, it just changes the attitude and swagger of the locker room; these guys need confidence installed NOW!

Secondly, as long as we see the team coming together as far as rhythm, timing and productivity, then there is reason to remain hopeful. The Bucs are NOT as good as the Rams, so as long as the Panthers come out ready to play I see no reason why this cannot happen. We should be very excited if we see a Curtis Samuel, DJ or one of our TE's have a couple of big plays. What we are looking for is "home run" potential. If we can see Cam be efficient and anyone not named McCaffery making big flash plays, then be very excited! If we see a defense that gets constant pressure on the QB, say 4 to 6 sacks and a ton of hurries and I don't know, say... TURNOVERS, be excited! (especially if a few of those come from someone named Burns)

Last of all, What we all need to hope for is that despite losing to the Rams at home, the Panthers SEE and FEEL like they are a good football team that just come up short against a great football team. If that's the case, and based on a lot of the players post game interviews, I feel that is in fact the case, the Panthers just MIGHT get a blowout win. But there are so many variables, the Bucs could play the game of their lives, you never know. If the Panthers only win by between 1 to 10 points, but look much improved in the process, then who cares how much we win by. The key is getting better week to week and putting it ALL together by the last half of the season. That's what we as fans need to really hope for... Remember, there are a lot of young players on this team, which should be encouraging in and of itself, I just want to see all that potential energy start turning into kinetic energy. There is a good enough mix of veterans on this team to help build the confidence of these young guys, but it has to start with getting those young guys involved, those young guys stepping up in the moment, and more importantly, just winning ONE game... That's the base! Who cares how much we win by as long as we win and NOT START 0 - 2. Of course it would be super freaking awesome to see the Panthers come out and play the game of THEIR lives and actually win 45 -10, but again, this is the NFL, and we should ALL know by now that anything can happen in this league, so I say... Just improve and JUST WIN BABY!!

We need to put together a clean game. We don’t have to “blow them out”, but we need a win that doesn’t look like we barely scraped by. A loss here would be demoralizing. Season is all but over if we do. We are in the NFC and the South at that. We can’t afford to lose games against teams that are lesser. Too many good ones we have to be better than to get a spot in the playoffs.
