Why game vs Bucs will probably not be a blowout

Have seen a few predictions on here about how Carolina will dominate tomorrow, and on paper we should. Also looking at how both teams played week one most people would assume we win easily.... not so fast my friends.

Four out of the last six games have been decided by one score. Yep, this Bucs team that has been terrible for quite some time seems to find a way to make it tough for the Panthers to beat them.

All of the simulations I have seen say we win, more than a couple say we win easily, just don’t be surprised if it comes down to a game winning last drive and Slye The Swole Kicker shows us he belongs in the NFL.

While most may seem confident in a win, I haven’t seen this team show urgency in quite some time.  Couple that with the fact that we are suspect on Thursday night games I have serious concerns whether RR can actually get these guys off to a fast start.  And if we let them hang around, the less confident I become.

Not trying to be a downer but show me some guts coming out of the gate tomorrow.

You also have to factor in who was playing in the last 6 matchups against TB. I think Derek Anderson was starting at QB in one game and another game Cam shoulder pain was significant. Typically Tampa needs us to play sloppy and turnover the ball to compete. My concern is that the Panthers have a tendency to play down to its opposition instead of pouncing on teams that they are significantly better than as of late.

In the last 12 Thursday night game in which a home team is favored by more than 6 pts, the home team is 11-1-1 against the spread.

Panthers are currently 7 pt favorites.

Statistically speaking, this game shouldn’t be close.

Now that’s a stat I could get to like.  Until we go on the road next year back to Pittsburgh on a Thursday.

Panthers have agonizingly, historically played down to their opponent, even during the 15 - 1 season. This is a "cultural" thing that needs to change... WIN the games you SHOULD win, and do not make it so hard (given, sometimes it just happens). Very good point!
