Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't he play every offensive snap in the game?

Yes this is a very nice record, but we had 3 active RB's, CMC had a record setting day, and we still lost.

My friends, there is a perfect example of spotting the punchbowl at a party and putting a turd right in the middle of it.

Christian McCaffrey had a big day, playing 100 percent of the snaps, rushing for 128 yards on 19 carries and catching 10 passes for 81 yards. But is that necessarily a good thing? According to ESPN Stats & Information, the Panthers are 3-6 when their star back gets more than 20 touches, and 0-10 when he catches at least seven passes.

Since when is it a good thing to be one dimensional in an ever evolving NFL?

I think that the CMC touches were less of an issue than "missed opportunities" (ie: missed FG, turnovers, giving up sacks, inaccurate throws, etc).

If anything, his production kept us in the game. I don't think that bringing in one of the back-ups was going to change that more than not being able to convert on 3rd down nor stop the Rams when it their go.

We agree fundamentally.

We didn't lose the Rams game because CMC had a big day, we lost off too many mistakes and lack of adjustments in the first half. We wasted too many drives.

My remarks are about our longevity as the season progresses. With 3 RB's active there's no reason to continue forcing CMC into playing every snap.

Oh, but there is.  He is by far and away our best player.  We cannot seem to move the ball without him on the field, this has likely shown it's ugly face in practice and Ron sees it first hand.

That ties in with what we all believe to be the case....win or you lose your job Ron.  Do you think for a minute that Ron cares about how CMC is going to feel in 4 years?  Hell no.  He cares about winning....NOW.

If we had a strong GM, he could step in and at the very least ask why Ron is spelling CMC, and putting him in position to be more fresh late in the season, and let him know that as a key cog in the wheel, he is going to try to re-sign him when he can, and doesn't want him to be like Gurley is now.

Alas, we don't have that either, as we all think that Hurney is likely out the door along with Ron if they don't win together.

Now you have two desperate people at the top of the food chain, and taking your best player off the field for a look down the road 2 years just ain't in the mix.

    • I like that a lot; Ware from Troy and also Khalil Mack who played at University of Buffalo
    • I remember the Huddle consensus over the course of last season and the previous one. Lots of Bryce is a bust, we should've drafted a 4th slot WR, should've kept Wilks, should've kept an armless Cam, etc etc. So... yea... already thought about that. I wouldn't trust the Huddle to detail my car, let alone run a multi-billion dollar professional sports team. 😛
    • bold prediction, I think Mike Green will be the best pass rusher in this class, and thats even with abdul carter.  He reminds me of demarcus ware, not just in size and prowess, but even coming from a Sunbelt school (Ware from Troy, Green from Marshall).  I think he is passionate about the sport where I think Carter as the physical freak might not have the heart.  Thats the guy Im sold on and am gonna hammer the table for, I know he's not projected 8, but he is projected like 12-13, so if a slide back can happen and we still get the guy I want, I'm 100% on board. All that said, it takes 2 to tango, I think the Cowboys are the tango-er.  IMO theres a VERY good shot that Jeanty is available at 8.  Why does that matter?  Not only do the cowboys NEED a runningback (dak sucks without a run game), but MORE importantly, gee where did Jeanty play in high school.....Frisco TX, literally Dallas Metro.  Soo, RB is a position of need and the best RB and most blue chip draft selection that  could improve the offense immensly played IN dallas metro AND will be in range for them to move up and pick?  Do ya think Jerry Jones is gonna just say no to the Jersey Sales?  Jerry might have sexually assaulted a woman and attempted to prevent black people from going to school, but he's no idiot (he is).  IMO, we get a good enough package, prlly their first and third,  maybe a conditional later and we move to 12.  We get Green, they get Jeanty, everbuddy happy.
