If we lose on Thursday, the following things will be true

What will be true is that Cam still can't throw deep and he's here just to make sure tickets are sold and people show up. It also means that the entire 3-4 defense talk was a smokescreen to remain vanilla on defense. Granted, I'm starting to realize that what we did Sunday was the specific game plan for the Rams with sticking with 4-3 to stop the run and quick passes to mask the awful offense line and keep Donald in check.

HOWEVER, if we get the same poo Thursday against a shitty defense and a turnover-prone QB, then it's over. On paper, Jackson should have at least two picks and our OLB should look like the Saints did on Monday Night. My teams waste entirely too much talent.

Short attention spans must rule here at the Huddle. How many divisional games ever end in a blowout? Come on people, the Bucs suck but they beat us last year and could beat us tomorrow if we play to their level.

Pretty sure that if we lose Tepper will be pulling out his list of coaching candidates and whittling down the possibilities

Watch Cam play a perfect game and the D look like crap and then we are just scratching our heads after a blowout loss.

Oh gosh I completely forgot about this, this happens too often!  D is awesome, Offense sputtering.....or Offense rolling like thunder and the D look lost.

D hasn’t really looked good since Ron took over. Reid last year said Ron was calling plays against Tampa (official statement came out right after). Outside of Teddy Bridgewater looking awful, we gave up 24 to the Bucs, 26 to the Browns, 12 to the Saints, 24 to the Falcons and 30 to the Rams. Outside of the Saints game, we haven’t really played much better on D than when Washington was calling plays. Washington was even worse but the Rams scores 30 even with Goff looking bad. When they needed to run at the end of the game they called plays that easily sealed off the edge and got Gurley one on one with the CBs.

I have no faith in Ron’s defensive genius.

To be fair they did score 7 off a turnover. So let's say they scored 23, which is right about the average to the others you mentioned

But yes this defense should be top 5 or better. Nothing less

There’s an element here that seems to want/need the team to fail.

I think what you are seeing, and experiencing is fan apathy...or at least the 1st stages of it.

When DG was fired, we went back to a guy who had proven that he couldn't do the job.

Then we got a new owner and hoped that everything would be better, and at the very least we would start to see some changes.

He made no moves.

We go into last season with a team full of Panther greats, what seemed like an energized team and an excited fanbase.  We finish the 2nd half of the season as poorly as one team can finish one.

No moves made.

We start this season with high expectations.  Cam is finally healthy, it's an odd year (this is stupid but this fanbase thinks it's something) a home opener, and what seems like a bit less competitive division.  We score 3 points in the 1st half, looked completely lost out there, and shot ourselves in the foot over and over.

We have a terrible divison record over the past 3 years, haven't won a playoff game since 15, and haven't won a meaningful game since Nov 4 of 2018.

This is frustration, not a desire to fail.
