The delay because of headset issues is inexcusable. Call an audible. Damn.

I don't know if anybody noticed it, but when the headset didn't work, Cam handed it to the equipment guy, he listened to it, and handed it back like it was working fine.

I just started laughing when we used our second timeout so early in the second half. And, sure enough, if we had had all 3 timeouts when the Rams recovered the onside kick, we could have forced them to give it back to us.

How does it feel to be so empty in life you have to pop up and try and be a concern troll about a football team?

Like holy poo kid if life is that depressing for you just end it already

With the technical issue, sure, that sucks.  Maybe you do call a timeout.  The technical issue was out of their control and I can see why it would cause us to spend a timeout.  However!  You don't then run back out on the field after the timeout WITHOUT A PLAY CALLED.  FFS!  The delay of game AFTER the timeout was what I found inexcusable.

The other one that really rubbed me the wrong way was the timeout we burned on ST when we just couldn't get our players on the field.  That is 100% down to "game management".  Whoever is responsible for that should be watching down and distance and on third down should be getting the punt / FG team on their feet and ready to get on the field.  That cost us a timeout that may well have been relevant at the end of the game.

Consider what "might have been" if we had managed to enter the last five minutes of the game with all three timeouts instead of ONE.  Now, we score with 2 minutes left and we don't even have to take the onside kick.  We can boot it deep, let our defense come up with the stop and have much better field position and time available for a potential game tying / winning drive.

Rivera basically confirmed that this was a change in title only saying that Mills III had already been helping out in these areas. Same as it ever was.

Regardless of how you feel about his performance, he shouldn't be asked to do this job. This is the kind of thing that someone with head coaching experience should be tasked with.

It honestly wouldn't surprise me if Mills having the title was just a cosmetic thing and it's still Rivera actually doing the game management.

I think this is exactly what it is. The delay of game penalties and panic timeouts to avoid delay of game penalties have been a staple of the Rivera era.

It's unfair in hindsight to blame Shula because it's the same as it ever was under Norv. It's unfair to blame Cam because it's the same when we have a backup in. I absolutely think that Rivera intentionally wants to slow roll the offense to rest his defense even though it's blatantly obvious that Cam and the offense as a whole plays better at a quicker pace.

It’s beyond laughable that Ron is in his 9th year with the team and he is still making the same dumb mistakes. He might not be personally responsible for all of them but at the end of the day it falls on him.

And he admitted that he got impatient and McVay made him pay.

Yes, it's been this way for 8 freaking years man. Rivera is simply not cut out to be a HC in the NFL. Tepper needed to boot him at the end of last year when we lost 7 straight. If you run no huddle and stall out how is it any different than running a regular run the clock offense and going 3 and out? Let the offense find some rhythm and I promise you we will look so much better. Wear their defense down some then pound it down their throats. Rivera is way way way way way way way way too scared and conservative. He has been his whole tenure here.

I feel like it was forced on Rivera by Tepper, so Tepper won't be pleased if that's what's going on.

As we all know, there are only 16 regular season games each year. As a staff, you have ALL offseason to prepare. The Panthers looked lost yesterday in the area of time management. how many times has this happened under Rivera??? The response is always, we’ll get it right next week. bullish!t. This staff couldn’t prepare itself for the Rams and had all off season to do so. What makes me think you can figure it out in next 3 days. It’s the same old bullish!t from Ron. ZERO urgency on offense when time is critical. Zero common sense when using time outs.

This must be particularly galling to Tepper.  Such mistakes are due to lack of preparation, lack of intellect, or a combination of both.

This is low hanging fruit that Tepper will not tolerate.

Probably an uncomfortable atmosphere around the office today.

Think how gleeful the Rams were that Norv and Cam decided to run Christian as time was running out

tic tic tic toc

it is like they never heard of sideline routes to move the chains and save time

it was mind boggling. Simply mind boggling

i hope the owner’s mind was boggled too
