Opinions: What will Tepper do if....

Can't predict what Tepper will do.

Richardson wasn't big on mid-season firings (although he was reportedly ready to fire Rivera before Hurney volunteered to step down) but we don't know how Tepper feels about them.

I can tell you that I think it's unacceptable for us to have another mediocre season where we can beat bad teams but we lose to good ones. We've seen too many of those already.

This team should legitimately win at least 5 of the next 6 games if Cam returns to his form. If we have poor showings , struggle against or even lose to the Cards, 9ers, Bucs I can see Tep making an in season change. He’s not going to accept mediocrity.

Would like to know who he has on speed dial

I highly doubt a change will be made during the season. IMO, there's really only two reasons to fire a coach during the season. 1. Complete and utter dysfunction that is ripping the locker room apart. 2. You know you're making a change and there's someone on the current staff that you feel may be the answer and you want to give them a test drive

Honestly, that's about it.

If this season turns out like last season or is just 8:8, we have to make big changes or we will slip into the repeat cycle of mediocrity that comes with a losing culture. And a losing culture comes when players don’t believe they have a real shot at success. A capable QB and coach are a big part of that formula. You can’t inspire players to put their bodies on the line and attract good free agents to a team that can’t win.

IMO, if things don’t turn around (I hope they do), then Tepper should clean out the front office and trade CMC + next years mid to high pick for a top 2-5 pick and get the next QB.

How do you define conservative? To me taking what the defense gives you. Beating the snot out the opposing teams offense. Moving the chains. Not be stupid with the clock or timeouts. That is not being conservative.

Why would you want to trade a QB's best friend in CMC and then draft a rookie QB? If I wanted to draft a rookie QB high, CMC would probably be the one player I'd take completely off the table in terms of trade talks.

Yea, you wouldn't do that.  You re-evaluate where Samuel and Moore are after the season, sign them, Moton, and CMC to extensions and roll with a young QB on a rookie deal.

I'm really hoping that this doesn't happen.

It’s just one idea to get a top draft pick. What else do we have with enough value to get there? Besides, running backs are very volatile. Who knows how many seasons he’ll perform at this level. IF he’s our only real trade capital, I’d rather have a good young QB plus scarlet than cmc plus Cam (provided it turns out he can’t turn things around).
