What's up with all these hating on Cam threads?

The fanbase needs a better QB.

Truthfully I hope everyone in this fanbase that thinks and behaves the way you do is saddled with another Jimmy Clausen except worse. I'll buckle in and keep rooting for my team, but fans like you will jump ship when things get too tough.

People are tired of seeing the same mistakes over and over.

I wouldn't have been nearly as pissed off had Cam not try to blame "rust".  That is such a piss poor excuse for the way he played.  He generated 0 points for the team.  He couldn't complete a pass over 15 yards.  He was looking pretty damn sharp in TC, so I rust is just a complete garbage excuse.

On the overthrow to Curtis Samuel, for example, the DB didn't even make contact with him to throw the timing of the route off.  It was just a horrendous pass, period.

"At some point something had to happen," he said of the game. "That was kind of the mindset. I feel like I was gonna do everything in my power to kind of get it going. It felt really bad at times, but it ended up opening up. We had to keep staying course, keep fighting."

His resolve is what stuck with teammates afterward. It endears him to them. As does his confidence.

"He carries himself with a chip on his shoulder, not to the point of being arrogant or cocky, but it's a good thing because that's why he was able to do what he did today," said right guard J.R. Sweezy. "He's going to continue to grow and get better and he's going to be a top quarterback in this league in no time."

Rookie Kyler Murray

Seque to the Panthers in the 4th quarter, Who had this type of grit on our team? I can only name CMC.

Coming back against the Lions in no way compares to coming back against the Rams. Murray wouldn’t have had that kind of comeback against Rams, believe that.

The dude played better than the QB opposite of him against a team that was just in the Super Bowl, in his first game back from surgery, and was a missed tackle or missed field goal away from none of these threads existing. Dude threw for 65% accuracy, which does not calculate tips or drops, and he moved the chains on multiple occasions. I am not some staunch defender of Cam either, he deserves criticism when he messed up, and he had a couple of moments in this game, but to claim he is done or he sucks is such a brash overreaction. This whole narrative that he can't throw a deep ball, when his arm was clearly just fine is annoying, we did not dial up deep balls because the last thing we want is for Cam to get buried on a seven step drop against one of the best defensive lines in football. We went toe to toe with a top 3 team in the NFL, and clearly showed we are ready for anyone, you guys need to step away from the message board and take a xanax or something, and make sure not to come in here after Thursday nights game glowing Cam up if you made one of these stupid 'doom and gloom' Cam threads.

The frustration comes not because we lost the game. It’s because Cam keeps making the same mistakes over and over. Not throwing the ball 20+ yards doesn’t bother me, overthrowing/missing a wide open receiver does. It’s been his achilles heel his whole career.  His mechanics and foot work-while better-are still suspect.

I doubt that very much

I logged back in for you. Though we have been at odds, you are far more loyal than any of these mouth breathers stinking up the joint right now.

Are you on the Moore train again yet? He has immense talent and potential but that fumble reminded me way too much of that costly turnover against Seattle some years ago. He needs a confidence boost against the Bucs. But there's no excuses. As much as I want this to be a "get right game" so to speak, I'm reminded that the Bucs have surprised us in years past. Our secondary could definitely get the opportunity to force some turnovers. I just hope the OL makes some strides. The back end of our schedule could prove to be quite brutal.

Nope, we've been hanging on for years man.  We saw one great year in 2015, but otherwise it's been pretty mediocre.  Lack of accuracy forces Cam to run which is exciting, but detrimental to his career.

Accuracy and consistency = winning records

It was something he needed to clean up and you’d think after having it come loose plenty of times his rookie year (sometimes after he was already out of bounds) it would’ve been a primary focus of his this season. However, first drive of the game when we’re moving the ball was a game changer. At this point DJ has given me no reason to believe fumbling isn’t going to be an issue for him moving forward. It’s a real shame because he has big play ability but if he can’t hang onto the ball I don’t want him anywhere near the ball.

I didn’t expect us to win yesterday but seeing how we lost sucked. We had plenty of opportunities to win but in typically Ron Rivera era fashion, we pissed those away and beat ourselves. Hard not to look at yesterday’s game and think it’s the same old with this team this season.

A lot of Qbs who barely had any preseason reps looked off early. Not a big deal. Cam isn't washed. We went toe to toe with the defending NFC champs. If you want to base things off of one week and completely ignore who they were playing against then that would mean Lamar Jackson is elite all-world and that Gardner Minshew is the second coming of Christ at QB. Stop breaking ankles jumping on and off bandwagons so early in the season. Cam is fine.

    • They have been link to the FL kid, lots of attention - Cam jackson Draft Profile: Bio A mountain of a man who took the long road to SEC football, Cam Jackson's journey from Haynesville High School through Memphis to Florida shows the steady development of a defensive tackle still scratching the surface of his potential. The Louisiana native spent three seasons with the Memphis Tigers, gradually working his way from special teams contributor to All-AAC performer, before taking his talents to Gainesville to test himself against college football's elite. The 6'6", 342-pound behemoth made an immediate impact in the SEC trenches, earning conference honors and establishing himself as a force in the run game. His senior campaign saw him rack up 37 tackles, 4.5 TFLs and his first two career sacks, saving his best performance for last with a dominant showing against Florida State that earned him a season-best 77.5 PFF grade. Jackson's development arc tells the story of a player who's consistently added tools to his toolbox. From his game-winning blocked kick as a freshman at Memphis to his emergence as a reliable run-stuffer in the SEC, he's shown steady progression. His invitation to the Senior Bowl marks a fitting capstone to a college career that saw him total 120 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, and 3.5 sacks across 46 games between Memphis and Florida.     Scouting Report: Strengths Mammoth frame with rare length and natural anchor ability - carries 342 pounds remarkably well and uses his 6'6" frame to eat space and clog running lanes effectively Shows some nasty when stacking and shedding - violently disengages from blocks using powerful hands and impressive grip strength to toss aside interior linemen Natural power jumps off the tape in the run game - consistently stones single blocks at the point of attack and flashes the ability to split doubles Advanced awareness and play recognition for his size - keeps his head on a swivel and shows good instincts tracking the ball through traffic Length creates problems for shorter interior linemen - uses his wingspan effectively to lock out and control blockers before discarding them Better lateral movement than you'd expect - can work down the line and mirror zone runs despite massive frame Strong hands and wrap-up technique as a tackler - when he gets his mitts on runners, they typically go down on first contact Flashes some juice as a power rusher - can walk back centers and collapse the pocket when he times up his bull rush     Scouting Report: Weaknesses Conditioning is a major concern - visibly gasses out during longer drives and effectiveness plummets when forced to stay on the field Raw as a pass rusher with limited counter moves - relies almost entirely on bull rush and needs significant technical development Pad level becomes an issue as he tires - stands up out of his stance and loses leverage battles he should win Below average first step and explosiveness off the ball - won't threaten many gaps or disrupt blocking schemes with penetration Struggles to disengage quickly when squared up by double teams - can get stuck on blocks too long once engaged Scouting Report: Summary Jackson profiles as a developmental two-down run stuffer with the physical tools to grow into more. His combination of size, length, and natural power will intrigue teams looking for a rotational nose tackle who can anchor against the run while they develop his pass-rush arsenal. The stamina concerns will likely push him down draft boards, but his performance against top SEC competition suggests he can contribute early in a limited role. Teams running multiple fronts will particularly value his versatility to line up anywhere from 0 to 3-technique. His best fit comes in a defense that can utilize him situationally while their strength staff works to transform his frame and improve his conditioning. If he can maintain his play strength while dropping 15-20 pounds of bad weight, Jackson has the tools to develop into a reliable early-down defender with some untapped upside rushing the passer. With proper development, Jackson could follow a similar trajectory to players like Dexter Lawrence - massive interior defenders who learned to maximize their physical gifts while expanding their impact beyond just stuffing the run. His floor appears to be a rotational run defender, but his ceiling will be determined by how much he can improve his conditioning and technical refinement. A Day 2/3 selection feels appropriate for a player with his blend of immediate utility and developmental upside.
    • Hahaha luckily we didn't run it back with those guys. Plus D Brown is back healthy... So we should be improved a little, at minimum, hahaha
