Rivera: Missed opportunities cost us the game

I mean what do you say? DJ fumbled, we got a bullshit backwards pass, we got a bullshit catch with non-fumble call, for most of the game the ball didn't bounce our way to recover fumbles, the headset cost us that drive, Weddle's injury took the wind out of another drive.

We worked our asses off to overcome that poo and fell short. I saw Cam looking deep but he didn't have the protection to hold it. Defense needs to bring more pressure.

The most fair and accurate assessment of the game. Thank you.

I agree. they missed the opportunity to bring in a new coaching staff quite some time ago

Ron didn’t commit three turnovers. Ron didn’t miss a FG. Ron also didn’t miss open receivers all day.

How people put this on Ron is pretty amazing.

Enough gd excuses period.  Time to revamp this team starting with the coaching staff.  Should have been done last January.  Tepper may be too nice a guy to run a successful NFL team.

Yeah, but he can dance on Mint St.  lol.

One aspect I’d like to point out: yes we lost to a defending super bowl runner up, but I’m not convinced the Rams are even an above average team at this point. This isn’t a moral victory imo. Coaching had a significant impact on the outcome of the game no matter how you slice it. The players and yes “missed opportunities” we’re actually as significantly impactful. I thought we out played the Rams for the majority of the game. To lose at home in that fashion is at minimum marginally discouraging. If we lose on Thursday to the fuging Bucs, this coaching staff should be relieved of all duties before midnight.

I mostly agree with this.  This feels like the 2016 Superbowl Rematch with the Broncos where we said the same stuff. "Its just one game",  they went on to be fairly mediocre and we went on to be pretty awful. I wouldn't be surprised if they start off 3-3.

I don't care very much for Rivera but again, he actually did a very good job today calling plays.  Time management sucked as usual, but other than that aspect I thought he did a respectable job considering he's the only competent Defensive Coordinator on staff.

How people keep thinking this is based off one game and not 8 seasons is amazing.
