Is the stadium really half empty?

Hence, even die hards have a difficult time.

Die-hards always find a way.  The die-hards remained in the stands...by definition, those who left are not die-hards.

Interesting to observe because all the rhetoric going into the game was the heat would be an advantage for the Panthers players....in truth, because of the heat (and lack of diehards) the home field advantage was lost.

It was hot. My wife doesn't do well in the heat but she hung tough all game. Weather is a factor in outdoor stadiums and one of the reasons I like an outdoor stadium. Most weeks it is fine. But you deal with the elements good and bad. I have been to stadiums like Atlanta many games but honestly it doesn't feel like football to me. I am just old school though

The place was packed first half and the heat took over at the half. I’m lucky to be in a section with some shade by the 3rd quarter but I had a buddy working security in the 500 level who had to deal with 14 cases of people passing out from the heat. That was only in about 4 sections of the 500 level. You wonder how many people passed out in general.

I went to the super dome last year for a random game in NO and everyone was complaining how cold it was inside...in the first week of October.

I wish we had a saints/panthers match up with the heat this past Sunday. Have fun in those black tops there.

Always seem to play them in December due to end of season ratings. Wouldn't mind playing them earlier in the year or in the rain or snow for that matter

I can tell you right now that those people aren’t from Louisiana. It’s only 72° in the Superdome, any local that is accustomed to the daily humidity here wouldn’t be *****ing and moaning about 72° when it was likely 100°+ outside with the humidity.

In their defense they were also soaked because it rained outside prior to the game. It was the Redskins MNF game.

So you are saying in 4 sections your buddy saw 14 different Panthers fans sit there and boil until they passed out?

How stupid does one need to be in order to take that path?

If the numbers you cite are accurate and extrapolate broadly it calls into question the intellect (or lack thereof) of the entire fanbase.

Unreal if true.

Well drunk people tend to be hard headed....It's not rocket science

That makes more sense, but still seems like a bit of a stretch. I don't really remember it raining that day because for primetime games I park in one of the Superdome garages and my gate is literally within 100 feet so I wasn't outside long before going in the Dome that day. Then when we leave, we exit straight out into the garage.
