They have not been disclosed yet but you really think it's a small deal for the best WR in football? That he's the best and he has a good relationship with Brown.

So you are saying that because of this "helmet deal" that he can afford all that he is losing, but don't know how much that is?

I doubt that deal is anything much at all to be honest.

Guess we will see when the numbers come out.

i bet it had a lot to do with the culture problem in pittsburgh. no one in the league gets a bigger pass than roethlisberger and he kept throwing his teammates under the bus because he knows he's untouchable

with carr it's more speculation than anything but he is a chud so friction wouldn't surprise me

I can't stand Ben, think he is trash, but I still don't really get what the skin color of the QB is about?

Carr certainly came off as goofy, but a lot of football guys are.

Guess we shall just see just what happens next.

make no mistake, antonio brown is going to be a topic of discussion amongst the players going into the next cba negotiations. that's why the usual suspects here and elsewhere are so committed to treating this as a loss. no one loves their boss more than chuddy nfl fans. if your goal as a team is to have a hall of fame receiver on the field week 1 but instead you end up losing him and draft picks for nothing in return in what universe are you the winner of this exchange? raiders got fleeced by the steelers bc pittsburgh was privy to the knowledge that the situation was beyond repair and brown wanted unconditional release

They didn’t get fleeced. The Steelers took a 20 MILLION dollar cap hit just to get rid of AB.

AB will be the topic of discussion because if he goes to grievance over this 30 million and loses. The owners are going to have a poo ton of ammo going into the next negotiations.

Why did he sign his contract extension with the Raiders? If he wanted to be a free agent why didn’t he just skip all of this and not finish the contract the raiders picked up from the Steelers. If he didn’t care about the guaranteed money and fines he could’ve skipped all these antics and got straight to the point.

I would have agreed with JR being our owner but Tepper is different and knows AB. Eric Reed was seen as just as much a trouble maker this time last year. We also run a system he is familiar with as well and have a QB who hopefully has his deep ball back.

Tepper knowing Brown isn't necessarily a positive.

It's generally acknowledged that other bad stuff happened in Pittsburgh that was kept out of the public eye. Tepper would be in position to have knowledge of those things.

As to the system, the Steelers run an Erhardt-Perkins offense. The Raiders run a WCO.  We run a Coryell. There's no real system familiarity there.

And as mentioned earlier, there's no  comparison between Eric Reid and Antonio Brown.

We will, so how did you make such a bold statement without knowing the numbers?  Doesn't make sense.

These helmets ain't exactly made by Nike, Reebok, and Under Armor, they don't have high paid endorsees.

Dallas, Washington, Miami

Dallas Yes

Washington No(Gruden family)

Miami No(the consensus is they are already going to tank this season.)

Indy, Dallas, Houston, Cleveland, Tennessee. Are the only teams that have the capital to pay him what he wants. Minus Miami obviously.

If he’s willing to go for less... then that opens up the field substantially.

He will have to be willing to play for less than he was signed for, there is no doubt about that.

That said, to go after him at this point, you will either have to be firmly in charge, and have no fear of losing your job (very few in the NFL) or be on the hotseat, and thinking that you need a miracle to keep your job.

The first type (BB) won't be willing to pay him nearly what he was going to get in OAK, and the 2nd type would likely be hamstrung by their owners because they may be looking down the road already.

Tealeaves are tough to read on this one....maybe Zona, Miami, Jax, TB (Arians is an egomaniac), etc...
