Hurney freeing up cap space. Extension coming?

  If I’m reading this right, why would you sign an extension like that, in that it forces you to restructure players. Even first year cap hits are usually low on any contract. There is no need for current money for a player with a cap hit already in place. 

   Now it makes KK almost impossible to cut the doesn’t bounce back.

Doesn't necessarily have to be an extension or an acquisition. Could just be freeing some space if needed.

That said, two things:

1) This is how we wound up in cap hell under Hurney the first time

2) Hurney extensions make me really nervous

Hypothetically say it is for Cam.  Already threads/articles about how he is underpaid by appx $10M/year.  If you are going to redo his contract wouldn't it make sense to spread it into as many years as possible?  Including this one?

I'd be fine with a Cam Newton extension if it means the mouth breathers in this fanbase finally jump ship. The reactions would be priceless.

How fine are you with it if after it's locked in, his shoulder / ankle / whatever gives out?

Maybe they are going to get Trent Williams, especially if Greg Little's concussion is worse than they had hoped

I try to give people the benefit of the doubt, but the almost hopeful tone about it is just baffling. Like imagine if fans went around saying that about Luke with his concussion history. Just pure ugliness the day before our season opener. Yet these guys just can't figure out why they keep getting saddled to losing seasons.

I seriously doubt Washington is going to give him up. Guys like that are too valuable. Besides, do you want hurn to give up multiple 1st round draft picks?
