Cam got paid before the last CBA,  that's why QB contracts skyrocketed the year after his contract was signed.  Honestly Goff's Contract won't look that bad in a couple years, and if we sign Cam this Off-season neither will his.

Jon Beason, 2007 is the last holdout.  Not sure who may have publicly complained . . . did TD do that before he signed his last contract with us?

Thats a long time, was just thinking we dont have that kind of crap around here. Part of it might be because of yes-man hurney when JR was here, but we dont deal with those kinds of players.

At $35 mm per year, I'd rather let him walk, tank (because next year is an even year and we will not have a winning record anyway), draft Lawrence, make a run at 2021 with a solid core and a guy on a Rookie Contract.

In all seriousness, at what point will players (not named Tom Brady), look at how their Cap Hit affects the rest of the team? What is $8 million annually when you more than make up for it in endorsements and investments?

Not so sure about a “team friendly deal” but I get your point and agree. 

As far as I can remember Cam has always been about the team and winning. If all is good health wise he is going to get paid, deservedly so . But I just don’t think he will hold out or demand a deal that will be overly detrimental to the team. He will get it done quietly. 

People can have their opinions about Cam but he’s never shown me anything but being a super team player. For as “new-gen” as he is... he still has that old school way about him too.

So what happens if we don't get Lawrence and end up with a Josh Rosen.   We have a solid core and still suck?   

Pay the man the market rate.  It's simple.
