I thought the pay cut was going to gurantee him a roster spot. Not sure why they didn't just release him during the summer???

I credit Marty for the move that needed to be done (hence why we signed hogan. He fills the role Torrey had last year). But you gotta wonder why we didn’t do it if he was that close to the bubble if we could have saved $5 million in cap space before summer. If he’s that close to being on the bubble for that price he needed to go. 

 

On top top of that I bet this was a “thanks” move by Marty for taking the pay cut and then giving him the guaranteed amount since we kept him on the roster this long

Would have been "more right" if we hadn't done that restructure a while back. Could have cleared him with no dead money.

as others have said, probably should have happened a while ago, but at least it happened. We didn't really end up getting a whole lot out of that trade.

1 million in dead money. 2 million to cap space. This was all about the money cause Hurney didn’t have anything left. It’ll put us at 5 instead of 3.
