I repeat, Moore Isn't The Answer

And he was so awful his senior year he nearly got his coach fired.

This is just plain out wrong. Not only did his team win 10 games that year, but they had a win in whatever bowl it was, and Moore played so well he was named the MVP of it. I'm pretty sure he had Pac-10 honors of some kind that year, as well.

You can look it up, but I know that you are flat out wrong about his coach nearly getting fired his senior year, unless you mean that they took criticism at the start of the season (which I consider irrelevant when the team ends with 10 wins and a bowl victory) I had assumed the UCLA stuff was true based on what someone had said, but maybe he wasn't injured that year, I don't know. I do know he did very well at Oregon State, though.

Actually you are dead wrong. Boosters and students alike were calling for his head for sticking with Moore during a 2-3 start where Moore played awful.

...Then he basically became a local legend after beating USC and leading a comeback drive to beat their rival Oregon with not much time left...and yes he won MVP of the Sun Bowl after beating Missou when he had 4 TDs and a rushing TD...also in that season he had the longest active streak for passes without an INT which ended up being broken in the bowl game due to a tipped pass

On a side note...he knows how to get his playmakers the ball...if anyone remembers or has done their research on him he got Mike Hass the ball enough to win him the Belitnakoff (sp) award for best reciever in college football his Junior year

And for a fact he was injured in the first quarter of the first game against Colorado his sophomore year at UCLA

Morgan said on the radio, wfnz, look it up, that his friends on the team, said Matt doesn't know the playbook.

Morgan is a Jake and Fox guy....nuff' said. Morgan's opinion isn't fact. You could poll every current Panther and they would all be in different camps.

Didn't Morgan also guarantee a win against Philly, or one of our earlier games?

I really respect that guy and appreciate what he's done for the team, but much of what he says is indeed just his opinion. I'll take it with a grain of salt.

Okay heres the wikipedia article both you guys are talking about so this will settle it.

Started all 14 games for the Beavers and was an All-Pac 10 honorable mention leading the Beavers to a 10-win season capped off by a Sun Bowl victory against Mizzou. After a 2-3 start, Moore and coach Mike Riley received a great deal of criticism from fans. Both found redemption after winning the next 8 of 9 games. This streak included a win over #3 ranked USC and a Civil War win at home. On the season, Moore completed 229 of 378 passes for 3,022 yards and 18 touchdowns with seven interceptions. He set an Oregon State record for the most consecutive pass attempts without an interception with 183 before having streak end in the Sun Bowl.[2] He was named MVP of the Sun Bowl after throwing for 356 yards and four touchdowns and rushing for one touchdown. The 4 passing TDs were a Sun Bowl record. In the second-highest scoring game in the Sun Bowl's 73-year history. He was 5-for-7 for 55 yards on the winning drive, setting up a 2-point conversion to put the Beavers up 39-38 with 22 seconds left to play
