NFL News and Cuts

Not sure if he's better than Carter or Smith, but Dakota Allen could be interesting for depth (and as an additional bonus, Intel for week 1).  He apparently looked great in preseason, but they cut him, and the Rams beat thinks he gets scooped up by another team...  He was a playmaker all through college.

Allen was a seventh-round pick this year, which makes this move a surprise. He played well in the preseason and was a solid player at Texas Tech, but an arrest in college caused his draft stock to plummet. It wasn’t a good sign that he played every defensive snap in the final preseason game, but given the Rams’ lack of depth at linebacker with Micah Kiser out, Allen was expected to make the team.

He may not clear waivers after showing well in the preseason. He’s a good fit at strongside linebacker in either a 3-4 or 4-3 scheme, which ups the number of suitors he could have.

Bills fans are going to be watching this season hard.

If they wind up having a good season, especially on offense, McDermott and Beane will look like geniuses.

If they have a rough season though, you'll probably see a lot of fans revisit the McCoy release with boiling anger.

It's not really that simple of course, but fanthink is rarely tied to deep, well thought out analysis

They signed Frank Gore this off season so the Bills are good. McCoy has missed more games than he played the last 2 years.

It’s really dumb to me. I understand they have a hole but they aren’t a SB contender. You could get 2 first round OL and 1 second round OL and you just took a first round tackle and a second round G/T. They reached but they are throwing away a huge amount for a LT who’s good but wasn’t even graded as good as Moton. He’s in the last year of his rookie deal. You just set his next contract as the top tackle deal. No way you can’t sign him for what you threw at the Dolphins.

It’s for sure terrible but what would be even more terrible is Matt Kalil protecting Watson’s blind side and ruining him. So I can understand why they did it even if it’s an awful deal for them.

That clowney trade was bad too. 3rd rounder for a 26 year old, 3 time probowler. We got a 3rd for kelvin Benjamin.

They were in contention until those horrific trades, after the luck news they were locked in as favorites for afc south. They’re still in contention but they need vintage jj watt

Horrific trading. I understand not wanting Kalil but WTF did you sign him anyway? Why not use the draft capital to move up this year and get Jonah Williams?

They basically gave up Clowney, two 1sts and a 2nd to get Tunsil, one 3rd and one 4th. That’s an ass whooping the same year you took a tackle in the 1st and 2nd. Just mind blowing.

Coach O brien is the defacto GM and hes on the hot seat. Texans fans are absolutely livid. Some talking about rooting for another team because they’ve had enough.
