To the people who say Moore isnt the answer

Following that train of thought, then, would it be at all logical to think Fox might know he's going to be fired whether he starts Delhomme or not, and that out of the same stubborn loyality we've seen time and time again he remains devoted to the man he's been tied to for the last seven years?

I doubt that he beleives he is going to be fired. He said as much last week. So any conclusions from that seem pretty faulty.

Going out on a limb here, but what if Moore comes in and plays well enough to win games? Think he'll regret making that change?

Do you mean he'll regret waiting so long to make the change? I expect he would say that it wasn't clear that Moore was the better option until Jake imploded. And that when he saw that, he responded. He surely didn't say he regretted waiting until week 13 to put in Moore in 2007.

They are not similar situations at all and Zorn is on a much hotter seat than Fox. Unless Zorn went 12-4 last year.

If you were the head coach, would you want Jake Delhomme as your QB at this point? He's averaging 2 INTs per game. Say that continues for the rest of the reason. At what point in the season, weeks 1-17, would you bench him if at all?

Can't say I know near enough to be a head coach but I have already said I would sit Jake and put in Feeley. At least he is a vet with starting experience and playoff experience.

Since I don't believe the loyalty crap and or that Fox suddenly got stupid, tell me why Moore isn't starting. And please give an intelligent answer instead of the same old reheated crap. Fox has been in the league a long time and surely knows that results are all that matters. My personal opinion is that if he is going down in flames he is going to go down with who he believes gives him the best chance to win and who has proven to be a winner over the years instead of flaming out with an unknown and regretting making a change. I am not saying I agree with him but I think that is his philosophy.

Got anything more profound??

Much respect 55 but is it fair for one player to play this way and be allowed to keep his spot when if it was anybody else they could be benched? Rosario didn't see the field for a while because of bad play. Jarrett (who would be starting if he was drafted to the right team IMO) hasn't performed well in practice so he hasn't seen the field either (although he performs well in games).

But Jake is playing soo awfully and nobody is allowed to take his place? That's wrong in a competitive industry and it's unfair to the other 50 guys. John Fox doesn't know how to asses talent and use his weapons. This is the same coach that didn't start DWill until yr 3. Look at him now. He was every bit as good as Reggie Bush and proven to be better but Fox didn't give him that opportunity.

IT"S WRONG AND UNFAIR TO EVERYBODY ELSE ON THE TEAM!

P.S. if Fox continues to do this, mark my words, he WILL lose this team and they'll stop listening.

They are similar situations in that theoretically both coaches could expect to get fired but would never say so to the public.

That is all that is similar. Snyder and Richardson aren't at all alike, Zorn isn't even allowed to operate the offense and he hasn't shown that is he close to being a winning coach. Zorn is a bad coach while Fox has a broken quarterback.

You can't really compare a quarterback to a receiver for example because the quarterback needs everyone on the team to play well and support him in order for him to look good or bad.

But still I am in agreement that I would yank Jake if nothing else but to give him time to watch from the sidelines and get a different perspective.

I'm in favor of benching Jake because he's a liability to the team right now, not necessarily because our alternatives are better. If we had someone to 2005 Kyle Orton this team we'd win some more games and our defense can feel better about their ranking. Because it doesn't do the defense good when you play really good but can't keep people out of the endzone.

Also, let's explore what impacts benching Jake could have? In fact, I'll let you do it. What do you think would happen to the rest of the team if Jake were benched for 1 game or indefinitely?

:yesnod:

Jake is playing bad though, really bad. It's like when you see somebody getting beat to death and you want to yell "STOP THE FIGHT!". He won't have any confidence left after this Sunday. I really hope they win. I hope they don't ask too much of Jake or this could get really sad really quick.
