He took a 2m pay cut in May that guaranteed him 1m.  So if we cut him we save another 2m

 That 1M guarantee is an “estimate” by OTC. So it isn’t certain it exists. 

 And either way he should have been gone long ago.

If you can roll the 2 million into something meaningful then it might’ve worth exploring but I think the vet presence is most likely worth the cost.  Especially at this point in time.

Sunken cost at this point. Keeping him just adds to the mistake. Tepper understands that.

If there is someone worth signing.  Sure.  But I am not seeing it atm.
