Ah I did not confirm that the OP was accurate about the 8mil guaranteed. At this point it would be a bone head move to cut Mario, because we would have to eat a good sum of money.

As for TJ, Im not sure where you got the 5.1m.....

The Dolphins will save $1.4 million against the salary cap this year with the move. They will carry $4.6 million in dead money. They will also have $1.9 million in dead money in 2020 from the move

I saw 2.666 dead and 10.666 in cap hit. No idea how you thought Mario had 8 million in guarantees on the last year of his deal. I thought you had issue with the roll over comment, cause next year looks super scary and that 8 mill would sure help. No problem, glad to see you share some knowledge

In regards to the guarantee discussion, this suggests that contracts are typically only partially guaranteed. They can be guaranteed for skill, cap or injury. Fully guaranteed contracts suggest you are guaranteed for all three. Apparently Kurt Cousins was the first and only contract guaranteed for all three.

In regards to Bradberry. The only way some of his cap on a new contract would apply this year would be if you ripped up his old deal and restructured his contract to include this year which is rare. Any extensions would impact next year not this year. However, because he signed the contract this year he would receive the signing bonus the moment he signed it but the cap hit wouldn't apply to next year.

Any money not spent this year will roll over to next year as long as you designate it for rollover before the end of the season.

Why are you posting basic salary cap information that we already covered. No one needed help. Certainly not with day one stuff like this.

And the other post has nothing to do with  anything we were discussing.

Apparently you do after 4 pages of back and forth about Addison's contract with other posters.

And yeah it talked about guaranteed money which was the whole debate. Mario's contract wasn't fully guaranteed at the beginning of the year and isn't now.

Yep. And you find the first word I was incorrect about. And the other poster read the numbers wrong but knew exactly what it meant when he saw the right ones. There were no special clause we missed. Or any of those scenarios.

So teach me about the salary cap. Don’t worry, you can continue to copy and paste because I know you don’t know it for real. Tell me all the salary cap issues I don’t know.. Let’s do this. Show me your google skills and I’ll stick with my head.  That might make it interesting.

The next time you teach me anything about the salary cap or football in general, will be the first.

Really. No one here is a salary cap expert and most of us don't suggest we are. You seem to be one holding yourself as some expert. Let's call Hurney and see if he has a spot.  You must have stayed at a holiday Inn express last night.

No. But I know more than you. And I’ll put my knowledge against anyone you want to put in front. I proved both Sportrac and OTC wrong on Matt Kalils contract. So I’ve went up against the industry standards.

I know the idea of backing up your words was scary, But that was a skillful deflection away from having to do so.

I wouldn’t work for Hurney for any amount. No way I’m getting the rap for that record of ineptitude. That’s like being an assistant OC under Mike Shula.

Wow. So why aren't you working in the industry if you are the smartest guy out there? I wonder how many people share your delusions of grandeur. I can think of someone in Washington who might hire you. You seem to have a lot in common from the narcissistic point of view.

Because I got out of coaching after one year at AUburn and never looked back. Sorry if someone actually having knowledge of something on a different level than you threatens your  “never wrong” persona.  Just because the extent of your knowledge is reading what other people think about something because you don’t possess the aptitude yourself, doesn’t mean everyone is that way.
