Suppose Cam is done for 2019

He would have finished the game had it been the regular season.

I’d point to our game vs the saints dec 30th, 2011 as to how friggin tough that guy is.  Took a nasty fall on his ankle in that game, missed 4 plays, came back in and led his team to a 44-33 win in the dome.

Cam is a warrior.

He plays through injuries that would put most QBs out for weeks

It's ridiculous to complain about how long Cams holds the ball when his targets are covered and cannot get open and he gets no protection.

Kind of not fair to require targets to get open in 2 seconds every play. Defensive coordinators and players get paid a lot of money to figure out what you're trying to do and counter it with scheme.

When they're also kicking olinemen a$$es in one on one situations, the play is doomed. The Panthers used to be on the right side of that formula. Now, not so much.

Not buying it. When you have the threat of a screen to CMC on any play, they won't rush too many.

No it isn't when there are checkdowns and folks wide open if you don't bail and start running but do what good quarterbacks do which is throw into the blitz or change the play.  The offense is designed to get the ball out fast. Cam just doesn't do it when pressured.

D coordinators have figured out if you blitz Cam he is undisciplined and bails out. That is easy to defend. Look at Grier's play to Bonnafon to see how to beat the blitz even when they come in unblocked. If a rookie can figure it out you would think a 9 year veteran could do the same

Did you watch the preseason game against the Pats? They brought an extra man every play.

Yes, the screen is a good counter. The Panthers tried it but Cam and McCaffrey couldn't connect. It would have been a big play if he'd caught it.

We're out here holding Cam to a higher standard than every other QB. Middle pressure collapsing the pocket is every pure passer's kryptonite. Remember when the Panthers used to beat up on the Falcons and Saints? It wasn't because of great downfield coverage.

I don't recall the play. What quarter was it?

I'm sure it wasn't against the Pat's starters. Was the pressure as bad as it was when Cam was in the game? It may have been, I'm just asking.

D coordinators have figured out if you blitz the Panthers, their line/scheme will give up quick pressure on the QB. Doesn't matter who the QB is. So tight coverage on their targets is only needed for max 2 seconds before the QB is flushed and scrabbling.

And Grier didn't have starters on offense at that point so it equals out. What they figured out is that Cam turns his back to his receivers and bails out opposite of the blitz so you rush him up the middle or from the right. Then rotate your secondary to the left not the right because that is where he will be running instead of throwing into the blitz or calling a hot read on the right.
