If we're looking to keep 3 QBs on the 53 man roster...

We could do far worse with Cam, Kaep and Grier in the QB room at once.

Far worse being an injured Cam, Allen, and Grier. Say what you will about the dude and his politics and agenda, but he's a better option as a back-up QB than anyone else available.

FA QB's available:

Brock Osweiler

Mark Sanchez

Matt Cassel

Landry Jones

Brandon Weeden

Kaep is a better option than them. You're lying to yourself if you say otherwise.

How can you say Kap is better given he hasn't played in years and even then he wasn't that great. He was a one read and run guy. I would prefer our guys over a guy who has actually played in the last 2 years.

Webb/Gilbert aren't good enough to bring in imo. I think Allen might be our best bet at QB2 for this year and he's already got the offense down... Bringing in anybody else would just be more trouble than it's worth, not going to be able to find anybody half decent at this point. Kaep has good experience but as others have said, not playing for 2 years, media circus... All for a backup QB. Unless Cam loses an arm I don't think we should consider going that route.

Keep Cam, Allen and Grier.   All indication was that this was all but final even before preseason started.  Are the young guys shaky against blitz and behind a suspect O Line? Sure.  Then fix the O Line first.  I mean look at what happened to Cam last game.

They pulled him as a precaution on the end of the drive he was suppose to leave the game on and the media tried to blow it out of proportion?

His foot isn’t that bad off if he’s suppose to practice Monday.

If we're relying on a backup QB this team's ceiling is Top 10 pick.  A serviceable backup doesn't change that much at all. Even in a retroactive dream say we sign Ryan Fitzpatrick.  Cool, we're a 7-9 team at best. The Nick Foles wet dream the Eagles went through was an outlier, and their offensive coaching/OL/talent level as a team being so great played a much bigger role than Foles.

If Cam goes down, the tank starts without much help.  Then you're either drafting a true heir apparent, or a legit LT to protect him.
