We must have watched 2 different games.

Scarlett had more carries, primarily because he missed the first game, so coaches wanted to see more of him.

Holyfield had 17 yards on 3 carries, Cap got the start, and had 18 yards on four carries.  Scarlett played well, and ran in different circumstanes, but he had the lowest average ypc of any our backs that played.

He also was fugged by the OL on more than one occasion when the penalty wasn’t even close to his run.

So was Cap, although not by penalities, just by lack of blocking, or no push.  And Holyfield had a solid series on our one td.  Nine yard run, and a 6 yard reception to put us inside the 10

Getting fugged by penalty isn’t the same as getting fugged by lack of “blocking”.

I can see what you are saying.  I just happen to disagree.  Judging guys in preseason isn’t simply looking at the yds per carry especially when they are playing against different tier groups.  Our online was manhandled by by the Bills first team D.

I am looking for overall burst through the line, vision, power,  receiving,  and overall game breaking speed.

IMO Scarlett wins most of these when compared to Holyfield.

And if they actually trusted CAP we would have seen some play on time before now.

Heck none of these guys may never see the field with CMC on the field.
