Lol imagine making a thread bitching about a draft where you potentially got a Khalil Mack-type pass rusher

I mean

Imagine getting a Cam Newton like QB and a Luke MLB but whiffed on the others.

Thats half the reason Hurney 1.0 ended up getting fired in the first place

Lastly snaps & impact >> starting

Yup.

Whoever “starts” is based largely on personnel matchups and sometimes even injuries. If you’re opening up against a team that tends to start a series in 10 or 11 personnel, 53 would likely see the field on the first snap, thus earning a “start”.

I’m not certain 53 is a bad option against the run at this point. I don’t know if that something that’s been a knock on him, but he doesn’t lack size.

I agree with the crowd that says theyre only rookies in their first preseason wait.

But............. man, loved the Burns pick but never liked Little.  Hated the trade up.  He's a good kid and hope he turns out, but sucks we wasted those 2 picks on a project when.......... the guy I was lobbying for who went 4 picks afte, has looked to have already become the best OL on Denvers starting lineup in Dalton Risner.  Some Broncos fans already claiming he's a future probowler.  And with GVR graded out as one of the worst starting interior OL in the league last year.  Wouldve been nice to grab him instead of guy who wont even see the field this year.

Chase Winovich, the guy who was picked at our 3rd pick.  Was a guy several of us said we should strongly consider in the 2nd, in the 3rd take it and run.  He has been probably the most impressive rookie in the entire NFL thus far.

And wouldve had of locked as one of the best edge duos in the NFL for the next 4 years

Also on top.  While we've had a Glaring hole at Safety.  This was said to be a deep safety class.  Had we packaged our 3rds, it wouldve put around where Juan Thornhill was picked.  Thornhill has been the most impressive defensive play on the Chiefs roster in camp, has already locked down the starter job and led them in ints in camp.

We had options, it looks now Hurney pulled a Hurney 1.0 crushing the 1st and missed on 2nd-3rd.  But its still esrly

I was on the Winovich train as well.  I wanted Dillard at LT in the first and a safety in the second. Abram was already gone, but Thornhill and Adderly were still on the board.  Then come back with the EDGE guy at #77.  Burns looks to be the real deal already, but the others are going to take some time apparently.

Friendly reminder,  lot of people on this board thought leonard fournette was the best thing since sliced bread and cmc was far from a universally praised draft pick at the time.

The worst draft we had recent years is 2016 by far and away with Bradberry being the only pick worth a damn

Any team.being ran by a competent GM, will struggle to add multiple starters our of every draft.

Regardless of how many holes a team has,  you fill the holes with free agents. If the GM does his job right, very few rookies will be immediate starters, as they transition to the league.

I don't think it's fair to judge this draft class for at least 2 full seasons. It would be unrealistic to think the 1-3rd round picks would be day 1 starters every year.

It would make more sense to evaluate and scrutinize the performance of Ian Thomas, Rashaan Gaulden, Marquis Haynes, Donte Jackson, and DJ Moore.

I am happy no rookie is starting with  several  who may contribute. Starting rookies is always a huge gamble and usually.means you have a big hole or a rookie is the best talent you have on the team. Neither is a good thing. I like them to work their way into the lineup as they improve their technique.
