Would McCown be a better option than what we have now?

Kyle Allen looked (by backup standards): great against Atlanta last year, great against New Orleans, great in training camp this year, pretty decent in Preseason Week 1, and then bad against Buffalo.

What’s the resounding sentiment amongst the Huddle?

“Our backups are all terrible! Allen and Grier are trash”. Y’all are way too impressionable...chill.

Stupid GM's/Teams make stupid decisions.

Last year we were seeing off some of our most beloved vets, and this coaching staff and front office didn't think for a second about bringing in a legit backup QB....even with our battering ram QB approaching 30, and coming off of multiple shoulder issues.

If we lose Cam, we lose the season. Period.

No, a veteran QB like McCown will simply be a waste of 2-3 Million. We tried Anderson for years as backup & yes, he did win games...against the Bucs, who turned out to be the WORST team of all NFL in 2014. So what should we do instead? The opposite; draft young QBs & groom them now for a cheapo price.

Foles won games b/c he was running on the right playbook with the right playcaller. There's no telling how he's going to do with the Jags. I wish Big Dick Nick best of luck.

If Cam's shoulder doesn't hold up, I would prefer we lose every game, we will need to be in position to draft a successor.

Let's pray that Cam's shoulder holds up, I'm not ready to start over again....and this time it would be a full teardown and rebuild....although I'm not 100% sure we are all that far from that currently.

As much as I don't think Heinicke is an NFL talent, I think he might deserve #2 reps this week. Allen and Grier looked like straight trash against Buffalo. Maybe Heinicke would have too had he actually played against guys who are likely to be in their roster come the regular season.

I say Grier looked the worst. He was a big part of us not winning. Also our back up LBs looked like trash as well.
