Takeaways From the Game

I gave them away, but yeah, I wasted a good bit of money and time on this...

Oh well, I'm an optimist... we came out healthy, and as long as we look good come September 8th, this will be a distant memory

I feel good about games when I can find positives. Like legit ones, and there really weren't any. One of the 11 players on the field fuged up nearly every offensive snap and we tackled like butt

hurney still cant draft outside the firstround

I got to stick up for Hurney 2.0 a little here... Both Gaulden and Haynes are looking good this preseason and look like they can both contribute this year...

And just like I can't call them a success without seeing them in the regular season, you can't call Little or Grier a failure yet either

T. Smith and OL were a disappointment.

OL was basically full of holes and QBs had only a couple of seconds to release the ball which played into their below average performance.  This is the most serious issue with the team at the moment because OL was our focus in the offseason and apparently not enough was done.

Panthers safety Eric Reid is wearing a black No.7 Colin Kaepernick jersey. Says Jay Z prospects of being a part owner of an NF@ team is ‘'kind of despicable.''

No possible way Jay-Z becomes part owner of an NFL team --- zero chance he cud pass the background check.

Our running backs (scarlett, holyfield, cap) had solid games, at least when it came to rushing the ball.  Not so much in the receiving department.  Palardy and Sly were great.  Other than that, it was a game we want to forget.  And will forget.

Anyone worried about the score is silly.  We did not have our core players on the field.

When you look at units, that is silly too.  The OL?  We had interchangeable parts on the field.

Here is what I liked

We saw a flash from Miller. That could be a huge perk for the future.

Williams was fairly effective against Hughes and Lawson---that is huge.

Scarlett could be the steal of the draft.  He has a burst, power,  and good vision.  I hated the pick---but I hated the Kuechly pick too.  And the CMC pick.

Godwin seems like a natural punt returner.

We may have a kicking competition

We are solid at DE/OLB.  Obada and Cox Jr had moments.

What I did not like:

Butler.  He is soft.

Boston.  He reminds me of some self-promoting side show.

QB.  Man they all looked bad.

First off, thank God this was preseason.  What a boring game.  It truly is criminal the NFL coerces fans (including PSL owners like me) to actually pay money for this putrid product.

  • Backup QB's- plenty has been said, but it certainly doesn't seem like either Kyle Allen or Will Grier could step in and be effective in a regular season game, and Taylor Heinicke is an afterthought at this point to the coaching staff.  Everyone knew that the success of this season hinged on Cam being healthy.  It appears that without him, we are going to be neither competitive nor entertaining.
  • Backup ILB's- There is a major drop-off here after Luke & Shaq.  Jermaine Carter, Andre Smith, and Jared Norris all look lost in coverage.  Buffalo moved the ball at will with Josh Allen just targeting Cole Beasley and the TE.

I actually brought this up in the all-pro earlier this week.

Again I like to hear from both side during these joint practices to get a real feeling of whats going on.

Bills beat writers were tweeting out this week, Cole Beasley ect was having their way with us including Josh Allen Starting out 11-13 the last practice.

This was WITH Luke in.  And you never once hear our beatwriters mention it because they like to tell the positives. Think this stems further back than just Carter Jr etc.  And more of coaching/playcalling
