The only reason Grier is getting hype is because he was a 3rd round pick. We could have got him in round 4 and use that pick on a better player.

Grier is a project, we need a legit backup who can hold the fork down if Cam gets hurt.

Man, Allen and Grier tonight... sheesh. At least Allen could scramble a little bit and didn't throw TDs to the wrong team. That's what can win you the backup QB job in Carolina.

Grier is looking like Int machine, in practice and in games unfortunately.

Grier is not used to the speed of these defenders or the myriad defensive looks.  He came from playing in the defense-optional Big 12, but he obviously is not reading the field well.  At all.

It's ridiculous to make sweeping judgments against Grier, but he doesn't look close to being able to play in a regular season game, and Kyle Allen isn't inspiring confidence either.

I'm not sure we shouldn't give Heinicke an extended look in the 2nd Half... he was our backup last year
