Reid rips into the NFL...again

Problem isn’t with the athlete expressing opinions and having causes. No, the problem is with unsophisticated Joe Fan’s unwillingness to separate causes from performances for three hours on a Sunday. 

I was skeptical at first. When I met him at fan Fest, I begin to appreciate his class. Week later, Spartanburg, I stood behind him watching him patiently and kindly signing autographs for a pretty rabid group of fans. And then I saw grumpy Greg Olsen storm up the hill right behind him, barking at people to get back and continuing to tell people he only had time for one or two. 

Now, is that indicative of a man’s character? Of course not. Greg Olsen is a good man who has done great things in the community. But Eric Reed was a class act that day with the fans, and it was genuine as hell. He wasn’t there spewing hate, or agendas. He was a football player putting smiles on kids faces. I noticed this the day after, as well. 

Those kinds of things with me over pretty damn quick. And you can tell when it’s fake. I like the guy. I’m ready to roll with him and see if we can return to form in that secondary.

And that’s exactly the point where I was extremely skeptical. Trust me, I feel ya. I also didn’t like how pouted in the locker room after that win. But it’s been nearly a year and I’ve decided to embrace his football acumen, while letting him exercise his freedoms as well. Not that he needs my approval, or anybody else’s for that matter.

And this is my jumping off point. Gave my take, nothing more to it from my end.

The question is where's Reid's support?

In Reid's mind the Player's Coalition is wrong, Jay-Z is wrong, Stephen A is wrong, Damien Woody is wrong....

....all those folks/organizations think Reid is wrong.

Reid & Kaep are on an island and Reid is bringing unnecessary distractions to the Carolina Football Panthers.

Well there goes the halftime shows.  They will be filled with nothing but anti-white, anti-american, anti-Trump liberals screaming social injustice in every note.  

Not to mention Country and Rock being banned from performing in the Super Bowl.

won that game. also body slammed Ertz and got me hype as hell. Should have had the game winning INT that day too. We've missed that dog mentality since Norman left. I think Reid, Boston, and Jackson can bring it this year. Talk that poo and hit em in the mouth

But see that’s the thing you’re not allowed to separate the guy on the football field from the guy off the field these days. Can’t root for a Greg Hardy who makes questionable decisions off the field but dominated on it. Can’t dislike a Reid for his bad play because if you do you’re a racist and can’t like him for his good play because if you do you hate this country.

 

All I want as a Panthers fan is for us to win the damn Super Bowl. If the whole entire team is kneeling every game and ripping the NFL and president and wouldn’t go to the White House but wins the SB I’m a damn happy man. If we suck but nobody kneels for the anthem I’m fuging pissed that we suck. It’s as simple as that. Don’t care at all about what guys do off the field as long as it doesn’t impact their play on the field or the locker room. Reid has been okay, we’ll see how this contract looks based on his play going forward but for now he’s been worth the risk of locker room impact. Even Cam had concerns about signing Reid....

the idea that jay-z, or anyone else for that matter, needs colin kaepernicks approval for anything is hilarious. 

i fully support the message kaep was trying to send, and you cant deny it has brought awareness and made way more players involved.

 

that being said, i am so over everyone trying to pretend he's jackie robinson or muhammad ali. kaep was in the league for 4 years and mysteriously didnt have any issue with police brutality or racism until the week he got benched. he knew his career was fading and did something bold and controversial to stay relevant - its crazy how this doesnt get talked about more

 

i think the biggest reason he isnt on a team is because as you can see, his movement has polarized everything. if youre a white player and dont support him youre a racist or insensitive and if youre a black player and dont wanna kneel or talk about race youre a sellout (Cam said something similar in 2016 and got roasted for it) Now apparently performing in the Super Bowl or working with the NFL makes you a sellout too - Gladys Knight got ridiculed for performing the opening in the Super Bowl in her home town for gods sake
