I stated my specific issues with Little's play. What more do you want? Sorry my opinions don't fit with the "facts" that your "open mind" has preconceived.

Careful chief, you’re starting to sound a bit condescending there....thought you didn’t like that.

I’ve already pled ignorance when it comes to the finer nuances of o-line play, so I’ll go ahead and concede to your “opinion” (not sure why you keep calling it an opinion when you repeatedly state it as objective truth). That was more of a broad statement, as I’ve seen you state quite a few “opinions” that do not appear to be grounded in any kind of factual evidence...the most recent example being you continuously painting Graham Gano as a terrible “choke-artist”. But this is a Little thread so whatever, I don’t care to continue to derail it.

Nice attempt to deflect. I offer my opinions as such. When I want to talk about "facts" I bring data in the form of stats or workout numbers. You seem to struggle to distinguish between "opinion" and "fact". Hint: when discussing technique, virtually everything is opinion. There's really no way to quantify technique.

Honestly, in terms of technique he's pretty much a mess. He's a leaner and reacher with his upper body and everything about his kick slide and footwork appears very choppy and labored. He lacks the fluidity and smoothness that top LTs have. I think he needs a redshirt year. Hopefully he works out.

Are we talking about PFF? Because I put very little stock in PFF. Plus, PFF is only grading effectiveness, not technique. Little was primarily going up against second and third stringers if that in the first game. His technique was a mess. That's just the honest truth. Yes, he kept marginal NFL players from making plays thus he was effective, my concern is that based on his technique he woul have likely been much less effective against NFL starting or even rotational caliber players.

Lol what? That sounds like a guy presenting his “opinion” to you? Okay, guess we do indeed have different definitions then. Never heard of an opinion expressed as the “honest truth”. Kinda goes completely contrary to its definition.

“Hey David Tepper is a money-hungry racist and him green-lighting the Eric Reid signing was just his way of getting media attention and keeping Reid in check. I mean that’s just my opinion, but it’s the truth”.

”Christian McCaffrey cannot run between tackles and he will never be able to. That’s the God’s honest truth. Hey don’t flame me, it’s just my opinion...but also happens to be true”.

You seem to be of the mindset that baseless opinions are fine, they don’t have to be grounded in any kind of objective truth...in which case this has been a pretty enlightening exchange and that actually clarifies a lot for me. That kind of mentality opens the door for ignorant opinions like that dude in the other thread who was trying to say Eric Reid’s excessive drug testing is due to his “shady past” or whatever. Do you have a problem with statements like that? Guess that was just his opinion and stuff so it’s all good?

So now you've gone completely down the rabbit hole of semantics and wild subject changes with a really beautiful strawman. This internet argument has truly come full circle. Congratulations.

The old semantics card...”nice attempt to deflect” indeed. Just an FYI: a “true opinion” is generally referred to as a “fact”. We could clear up a lot of confusion if you keep that in mind for the future.

When discussing completely subjective matters such as blocking technique, I think it usually goes without saying that it's pure opinion because, well... it is. Even if coming from a career NFL OL coach. There's nothing quantitative or measurable about technique.

You have nothing to add to the conversation other than arguing about semantics. If you want to disagree with me about his technique, fine. Have at it. But here you are trying to "win" an internet argument by completely avoiding the subject. It's chickenshit. Argue the point or just quit.

I mean...your post that I initially responded to was you criticizing someone for his general demeanor on these message boards (a completely non-substantive criticism). So when I do the same to you, now you are feigning outcry. I’m sorry that you don’t appear to enjoy being on the other end of that.

As far as the topic on hand...I already addressed that in that I pled ignorance. I think you and several others could benefit from the Machiavelli quote “A sign of intelligence is an awareness of one’s own ignorance”. It’s okay to not have such a strong vocal opinion on literally every single aspect of this team that you feel the need to express to no end. Especially when you constantly express those opinions so smugly as fact. I don’t think you get to play the “semantics” card when you present your opinions as “truth” not once, but twice...which is completely consistent with your demeanor on these boards.

But hey I know I know...these are message boards, right? Screw the quality of the content, as long as we’re driving traffic and promoting engagement...Jeremy would be proud.

Gotcha. So you've fully admitted you have nothing to add and just want to argue semantics. Thanks.

Yeah...I mean I technically already said that a while ago lol. If you spent a little more time with the reading/analysis and a little less time mindlessly churning out “content”, you could’ve saved us both a lot of time...and hey, you may even bolster some of those “true opinions” of yours too.

Are we finally done here?

Yeh I think he’s gonna be fine. Let’s step away from the edge. He’s got the tools to be successful.

I think it goes without saying that it's come to a conclusion when someone feels the need to cite an ancient philosophical work on a football forum in a desperate attempt to boost their credibility.

Machiavelli was a person, not a work. But my bad, I’ll consider my audience next time. Please carry on with your general passive-aggressive platitudes.

Time will tell. I'm not on the edge about him. Most rookies come into the league needing significant work on their fundamentals. I didn't want Little, but I'm certainly hoping he becomes a very good starting NFL LT. I'm curious to see what Matsko can do with him. Overall, I think Matsko has done a pretty damn tremendous job as our OL coach.
