He'd probably make the team if given a fair shot. But guys like Torrey and Hogan have the advantage. Not saying they're bad players, but they don't have Ross' upside.

I like that opinion I believe he might but I guess it’s part of the mix needed vets and young guys. Upside is a good thing until his upside runs the wrong route causing a game changing int, then we want a savy vet who’s just gonna make the play and keep the chains moving might not pop it for 35. Do you think we have enough upside with DJ/Curtis/Ian or would you rather keep Ross over Torrey?

Best in the AAF. JAG in the NFL. Nope

Calling the best in the AAF a JAG in the NFL is being generous. Those who can play in the NFL will play/stay in the NFL (a couple rare exceptions noted). If they can't, you'll see them in the CFL or other much less talented leagues or just doing something else with their life. I didn't have much hope for him.

I think DJ and Samuel have plenty of upside. Football is a fickle sport though. Injuries aren't an if, but more a when/who. I'd rather have as many homerun threats on the field as possible.

Not sure about the upside part, at least for Hogan. He was one of, if not the top in creating separation last season.

I don't agree with this mindset. We have several very talented young wide receivers. It's good to have veteran wide receivers in the locker room. Especially ones who have been there and won. I don't know why so many people don't value that the way I do. I think veteran leadership is critical to winning teams. You can stash guys like Ross on the practice squad for later or sign someone similar if the need arises.

Only way he's making the team is as the PR, and he's not at the top there.

Certainly has a chance at the PS, either here or elsewhere.

I personally would rather keep one of the bigger receivers like Andre Levrone on the practice squad to develop though.

We have a glut of smaller receivers at this point.

This is also the key reason he wouldn't make the team.

Its not just about having WRs.  Its about having a variety of WRs for different situations.  You want your speedy small guys.  You want your jump ball, middle of the field guys.  You want your extreme hands guys.

While I like Ross, what he brings to the field right now, we are fairly decent in.

    • I think it will be hard to not go edge in the second if we go QB first. Say you have Starks, one of Bond/Egbuka, and maybe one Edge (don't have a name to throw out that is end of 1st round projected and may slide)... do you still go Starks? Just curious. I haven't looked into starks much, as I've been focused on QB, WR, and DL prospects.
