Yeah I would play him out of the gate. Scripted plays with quick throws so there is little pressure on the line. Double Mack and negate him. Drive down the field and show the league what we got. Then put in Allen and move on. Cam is 100% and ready to go.

There also will be parts of plays that Norv may want to try out (he'll never in preseason show everything) with Cam in because our other QB's don't present defenses with the same playmaking threats. He'll want to test against defensive starters so they can tweak in TC and those starters won't be playing the whole game either.

As much time as possible should go to Grier/Allen/Heiny imo. If Cam plays a few series in the pre-season it will hopefully be just quick dump offs with a lot of protection. Preferably not Thursday though considering it's the Bears.

Against that front in Chicago?  Yeah nty.  He can get reps in week 2 against the Bills.

Yes I would, scripted plays with quick realeases, for a series or two. This isn't a baby league, it's the NFL, if our starting QB can't play a series in a preseason game, we need to know. The sooner the better....

No. we have 2 backups that need work.  Cam should not play until week 2 (1 quarter) and then week 3 (one half),  Then game 1.  He may be rusty week 1, but we can adjust the scheme to limit his exposure.
