This is not a Gettleman vs. Hurney thing but just think in 2014 Boston was a 4th round pick that most people on here hated.  6 seasons later he and Turner (3rd round pick) are still starting and the 1st and 2nd round picks are not even in the league now.  That's why I have always thought it is better to have a lot of middle round picks than 3 or 4 in the first 2 rounds and then 1 or 2 for the rest of the draft.  You never know.

Statistics would indicate that is not a wise way to run a franchise.

Tre Boston returning at worst gives us a legitimate starting secondary, something we truly haven't had since 2015.   At best, the secondary of Jackson/Bradberry/Boston/Reid has the chance to be a top 10 secondary and help propel this defense to one of the best in the league.

Hopefully, Boston has a 2015 Kurt Coleman-like year at FS, and Jackson makes a leap in performance like Norman did.  Bradberry can be every bit as effective as a late-career Tillman if not better, and Reid is certainly a better overall player than Roman Harper was in 2015.

That may be end up being wishful to recreate the magic of 2015, but I do think this group has the ability (especially with an improved pass rush) to generate more turnovers.  That was the hallmark of the 2015 defense.

Regardless, I expect this group to at least carry their weight and not be a liability.  We have a lot of high-octane offenses on the schedule this year (starting week 1 against the Rams), so they need to be ready right out of the gate.

Signing Tre Boston should make everyone feel better about the FS position and the defense overall.  It really does address the last pressing need going into the season.

It also shows how much urgency Hurney and Rivera have from Tepper to win this year, and from a roster standpoint there are no excuses.  On paper, this is a complete roster.  Hopefully, the record by the end of the year reflects this.

Boston looks great compared to anyone else we have, definite upgrade. I think Perry Fewell will get him straightened out on his crappy angles.

I seriously think that if our front 7 can return to its usual domination that we will see a return of Thieves Ave.

Great film breakdown from this kid again!  Gives both the good and the bad we should expect from Boston this year.  It’s an upgrade for us, but there will be head scratching moments from some of his angles he takes.

Where can I find this guy at

Pass rush was missing and we were getting beat deep alot last year. This whole defense looks sooo much better. Pass rush will really be unstoppable the way I see it. Burns, McCoy, Short and Poe all except Burns has shown they are capable and even  Addison not a Elie pass rusher but solid. They should generate enough pressure and with Luke and this type secondary that is quick and can atleast hold their man for 5 to 7 secs THIEVES AVE is coming back.

The Patriots have been doing it for 15 years.

They have also had the very good fortune of a healthy, underpaid QB for 20 years, and one of the best if not the very best coach of all time....in any sport.

Adding to it, and I'm not researching here, the best QB to play for much time in his division is one Chad Pennington.

The Pats have had a comedy of errors in the draft, but it doesn't matter when you get to play in a poo division, have a healthy QB who is very good who doesn't want to be the highest paid, and the best HC in the World.

Tough to compare anything to the Pats.
