Special Teams-  while not sexy this does give us an idea of the remaining spots on 53.

First 2 punt returners are Mickens and Godwin.  Mickens Is shifty. Godwin has great hands.

Kick returners-  CAP, Mickens, Godwin in that order.

So that tells me that both Godwin and Mickens have the inside path to the last receiver spot right now.

Both these takes are wrong.  I was right in front of that pass.  Levrone alligator armed that one.  May have lost it in lights.  If he reached his arms out it was right there.  IMO that was the best throw Grier had all night.  He dropped that right in the basket.

One thing to keep in mind with Bradberry is that virtually every receiver on our roster is a match up problem for him. He's great against the bigger receivers in the league and their are a lot of them. We just don't currently employee any of them.

This is a good point.

Also, I think that our offense is just going to be a freaking problem for most defenses in the league. We’ve got 2 very dynamic WRs, one of the best RBs in the game, one of the best TEs ever, and the most unique, hard to defend QB in the NFL. It’s on.

I touched on this in another thread, but Boston is a gambler by nature. He makes huge plays at times, but he also takes bad angles. He’s the kind of piece you want defensively if you are playing from ahead. This is what worked well for him at times in 2015 in late 2014–at least as a pass defender.

I believe the team shares my view: they will play with a lead in many of these games. I don’t think it’s the only factor in signing Boston. The team needed a free safety. I think he will be pretty dynamic with Reid back there beside him.

Then again, everything is a cautionary tale in this league. We’ll have to see how it works out.

Boston did have a bit of a struggle in 2016. He and Norman had great chemistry. Norman was also one hell of a corner in 2015, and the tail end of 2014. I’d like to think Bradberry has come along since his rookie year. I’m curious to see it play out.

Also, don’t forget that safeties are supposed to help out sometimes. Bradberry can’t keep up with Samuel 1 on 1 and there may not be any corners who can, so there has to be safety help (Reid tweeted his mistake). Reminded me of that TD in Bradberry’s rookie season that everyone blamed him for (except PFF and some of us who knew he assumed the safety would cover ir). I could be wrong but I believe the safety out of position on that play was none other than Boston.

Samuel is either going to get a ton of attention opening up the underneath routes or he’s going to have a bunch of long TDs like this. He’s 100% our deep threat and he’s going to be fun to watch.

I believe it was cover 3 and Reid had the middle.

He'll get the long TDs early and then teams will start adjusting to his speed. Right now, few know him.

That should open up passes underneath for Christian and Greg. Cam was completing passes at a clip above 70% before his injury. Stretching the field should in theory make us harder to defend.
