would love for the new stadium in Raleigh, cuts a 5-6 hr drive down to3........

Folks, they’re not building the new hq and practice facilities south of CLT and then a stadium in Raleigh or Greenville or something. That would essentially make every game a road game. No one wants that.

He wants a two state presence so the stadium is staying in CLT. Moving it to rock hill would just make it a S.C. team (a step backwards from his goal of two states one team). He’ll threaten to move the team but it’s not going to happen. He’ll get his funding one way or the other.

Anyone who thinks we're in a position to negotiate just needs to look at the St. Louis Rams.  Having a professional NFL team is a big deal and we shouldn't act like we're irreplaceable as a market.  I am completely fine with Tepper's proposal.  He wants to share the risk and the benefits.  Sounds like a fair deal to me.

If he wanted to play the I'll move to "L.A." card

He would've done it before agreeing to build team HQ in SC

So far Tepper has been honest with what he wants

But he wants a new stadium he should use is own money and try to keep it in the same area

Because as citizens we can't come up with a better use for taxpayer dollars than subsidizing a multi-billionaires dream for a stadium that really isn't necessary.

Want to be relevant or a city without a team? Dude is a billionaire because he makes smart investments. I am sure he will put up a lot of $$$. Want to talk about greed then maybe we should talk about Jerry Richardson ruining the NFL with PSL’s.

Ask yourself, would you buy stock in a company and pay dividends to strangers just out of love? NO! Same with a stadium.  The city will get money and benefits for a stadium so why on earth should the city not help with the investment if they gonna get returns on said investment.

He's the billionaire, pay for the stadium yourself.  Take our ticket price money, NFL money, and combine that with his hedge fund money.  Stop stealing from the people and money that should go toward our well being.  Shoot, if we pay for the stadium, then we should be sitting in the owner's box.

PSL's were a brilliant idea that got Ericsson/BOA Stadium built without requiring a large infusion of taxpayer dollars.

PSL's target ardent Panther fans to put their money where their mouth is rather than relying on the general public (many of whom have absolutely no interest in sports) to subsidize an NFL owner who could easily finance/pay for a domed stadium if he chose to.

What if he only asked for a cut of tourism (hotel tax) dollars? Year round events would generate more of that kind of revenue.

That’s what Tepper and a Charlotte city councilman said.

Well, he's mentioning using money from both states, already receiving money from SC for the training facility.  I'm trying to see where the actual benefit is coming to the people.  So he wants to turn Charlotte into a bigger hub, but Charlotte is just one city.  I just don't like the idea of billionaires using money that is not their's, to get richer.  Yet we credit them and saying they are making smart business deals.  I guess it is smart when it's not your money.

I don’t disagree. He has 11 billion. He’s not going to miss 1.5-2 billion. However, I’m ok with him taking a cut of tourism taxes since his property would be responsible for generating some of that revenue.

Just don’t ask for money that comes from Charlotte citizens.

There it is.  So, the people who will use and benefit from this the most, aren't the ones who would be paying the tax....so it's OK?

Taxes.....as long as someone else is paying, I'm good with them.

How about we don't subsidize a privately held business, and devote more of the money to the infrastructure, toward teacher and first responder pay, etc....

There are a lot better uses of taxes than helping up the net worth of billionaires.

Or, better yet, don't impose another tax on anybody.
