Post some sources that show these benefits. Others have posted sources that show the opposite.

You genuinely believe Charlotte and the Carolinas don't benefit from having a stadium with an NFL and MLS team as well as the infrastructure to host a Super Bowl? If you believe that, there's nothing I can say that will sway you.

It's not about "believing". It's about actually finding sources to support your beliefs. The fact that you used the word "believe" shows me that this is an emotional opinion for you and no amount of evidence can convince you otherwise, so it's not worth anyone's time to engage you. Bask in your ignorance.

Sure, there will be some benefits....

This. It's an ROI issue. Is this the best use of tax dollars or can they be better used elsewhere?

And yes, additional parks that he previously mocked would be a good example since the World Health Organization has observed real physical and mental health benefits from urban green spaces.

Basking in ignorance? Pot calling the kettle black there.

What source do you have that proves the capability of hosting a Super Bowl doesn't help Charlotte?

Sources have been posted arguing against the economic benefits of using tax dollars to fund stadiums using facts and evidence. Post your own or just stop. You're trying to argue based on nothing but your own opinion. That's worthless. If you're so confident come back with the sources you've used to formulate this opinion.

Disagree.

Tepper has no interest in taking game days into a rural environment.  Charlotte is the only option and we now know he's locked down because of all the massive investment being made into the big Rock Hill development.

Bad news is current city council is too dumb to figure this out.

Tepper absolutely wants to keep the Panthers in uptown Charlotte, no doubt about that. But...he’s playing high stakes poker. He’ll ask for public money for the new dome and he’ll get it. Local and State governments do not want to test Tepper and lose, trust me. The Panther HQ’s being built in RH screams....DON’T FUG WITH BIG BALLS TEPPER!

Typical right-wing people promoting ignorance and poverty over future success. We don't need to be well-regarded as a city, muh tax dollers need to go to more important stuff

Kinda like "typical left wingers" that scream  "more of muh tax dollars for teacher pay". And NC is still 32nd in education.

You're unhinged. I'm a right winger for arguing against giving a multi-billionaire hundreds of millions in tax payer money to build a stadium while you mock using tax payer money to build city parks?

LOL! Okay, buddy...

Yeah because city parks don't create near the number of jobs as NFL and MLS franchises. Then again, job creation only matters when one party is in office.

As a Charlotte taxpayer, I'm not crazy about having to fund part of the stadium but I get that partnerships require it and thus I'm in favor of it. Solid chance most of the "I AIN'T GIVIN HIM A DIME" folks aren't from around here anyway.

Never ceases to amuse me how they can worship one guy who inherited wealth and pray to him as if he were a God, then want to turn away a rich guy who actually wants to invest in the community -- not just scream it at rallies.

It's as much about getting MLS as it is a Super Bowl.

Why? Average MLS attendance is slightly under 21k (undoubtedly skewed due to the small stadiums many if the teams play in). The current Panthers' stadium holds slightly over 75k. Atlanta leads the MLS by a long shot in attendance at a little over 51k, still over 20k shy of the current stadium capacity. Second place is the Seattle Sounders at slightly under 40k which is barely over half of the capacity of the current stadium. 22 of the current 24 stadiums have open roofs with only two having a retractable roof.

I'm not sure how or why a new stadium would be required to lure an MLS franchise. The current stadium seems as if it would be more than sufficient. In terms of overall capacity, it would actually be the largest MLS stadium.
