Meck county and PSL owner if that matters...

Cool.  Def matters.

Courts & police always take precedent over arts.

They aAlso take precedent over funding a hobby for an $11 billionaire.

Tepper just needs to whip out the checkbook, no tax money for him.

Whomever would benefit the most from this project, should pay the most.  Charlotte citizens.  However this way, they will pay the least, and the county/city commissioners and mayor can continue to be elected while touting this is a "major win" for the citizens of Meck Co. and Charlotte.

Tepper will get his money, the Panthers will continue on just like they would have if he didn't, I'll continue to be a fan, and I'll continue to disagree with governments handing out our tax dollars to the wealthy.

Regardless of how you feel about the idea of a new stadium or expensive renovations, there's a simple reality that the NFL can't keep justifying rising costs build costs to cities. We're already well into the billions for a fresh stadium, where does it go from here with other cities facing this dilemma in the not so distant future?

Actually, it's pretty easy.  Say No.

People love their football, so it's sounds like good news when the politicians can say "The Panthers are staying in Charlotte where they belong!!!!!  (patting each other on the back all the while)  "The best part???????? the taxpayers of Meck and CLT don't even have to pay for it!!!!!!!"

If these cities, states, and counties would market themselves to these businesses vs. give away the farm and hope for the best, I think this would go away pretty quickly....but they won't...that's hard.

It's a lot easier and fun to say that we will knock $20M off your taxes over the next 10 years than it is to put together an actual reason why those entities either want to stay where they are, or better yet come here/there.

It’s a very good possibility

lets not dismiss parking revenue...let’s see how that all works out...lots of land in SC...not so much in uptown

and I could care less about a roof...football should be played outdoors, open air, on grass....not in some spaceship dome

A roof is an important upgrade and is a must. Try thinking about inclement weather(thunderstorms) because a game may not have to stop and wait for it to pass over since the roof will give the fans/players/staff protection from the elements.

How likely is it that the Panthers play somewhere in South Carolina in several seasonsT

Tepper is all about “two states one team”. It’s one big driver for moving practice and the hq to SC. He wants to cultivate fans in both states. If the stadium was also in SC, it would be the one state one team issue all over again. Not to mention most of N.C. would be pissed about the move.

Sc isn’t the only population he wants to increase fandom in. Raleigh and east are big opportunity areas. The RTP area alone has a population equal to half of sc’s total population. Moving the team further away to another state isn’t going to help.

Also:

1. The city has rights to foreclose on the current stadium if the team ever leaves the city. That would make MLS plans a lot harder. (if he still wanted to play mls in clt. I can’t imagine people wanting to make that drive to rock hill or fort mill to watch soccer. Knights anyone?)

2. He wants the stadium so he can attract big evens. Events that want a good atmosphere and other attractions for their fans. Rock hill doesn’t have it.

You must be that fly then because you and the posts you make are useless and lacking any relevance. Go away and join the lame team you really belong to and are a fan of.

My opinion & position on funding a hobby for an $11 billionaire certainly doesnt align w/ urs but it is 100% relevant (and correct I might add).
