Ten years into Cam on the Panthers and people still don’t realize that Newton is the “hot take” drive thru express window for criticism and attention. Look at the past week - two former players who I guess are trying to make a name for themselves in the broadcast industry, grab the low hanging fruit and criticize Cam.....which of course the national media loves and gets clicks. I have better things to do than listen to this garbage.

There's a chunk of our fanbase that would enjoy that.  They get their little old Panthers that nobody notices or cares about back- complete with a gritty, lunchpail try-hard Rudy from a small school at QB.  Just give them a bittersweet Cinderella run that ends in heartbreak once every 20 years or so and they'll be content.

But, you can't deny some of the stats, no matter who brought them up.  Outside of Carolina, how many fans would want to trade their QB for Cam straight up?  Tampa, yes.  But they would say that to about 30 other teams.

Here's hoping that Cam has the season and shoulder, that we are all hoping for.  But you cannot with a straight face deny that Cam has had his ups and downs.

Leaving a team willingly or unwillingly is never easy and some players handle it with class and the rest handle it like DWill.  The guy was into midget wrestling and do we really need to say anything else.

Maybe  if our coach didn't keep putting us in prevent defense halfway through the first quarter that win % would be a little better. How many times has Rivera snatched defeat from the jaws of victory? Cam has his flaws, but this teams record since he became QB is not in any way his sole responsibility.
