The decision for Cam Newton not to throw more than with the training staff was scheduled by the doctors, so not a setback for the quarterback, coach Ron Rivera said. Will Grier took the first-team snaps. Newton likely will throw in Sunday's practice.

I am thinking too much off season throwing contributed to last year's problems. Remember those videos with A Brown last year. Sometimes less is more.
