Allen Bailey agrees to a two year deal with the Falcons. How does each team rank on defense now?

You may be confusing Bennett’s. Allen Bailey >>>>>> Michael Bennett

Bailey is merely an average role player. Maybe better than this Bennett but not a big deal and won’t strike fear in any OL

I see your team starting training camp early so they can get the training camp injuries out of the way and sign Bailey

Ha...it's that first game that's a real bitch. I think we lost Keanu, Deebo, and Freeman in/after that game. I think we started early because of the Hall of Fame game, which should be abolished, or count as one of the 4 pre-season games.

They probably got a little better, but likely not significantly so. This is probably roughly the defensive equivalent of us signing Chris Hogan at WR.

Sort of disagree there,.. Chris Hogan went to 3 Superbowls in a row the last 3 years and played with the best prepared team in the NFL,..... and recently.

that kind of experience I think far outweighs anything Allen brings the falcons as a Net Gain over Bennett.

He should be a good rotational player if nothing else. He had six sacks last year, so that's a plus. We just need an average defense if our oline improves, not a dominating one.

Trying to win offensive shootouts is not a great way to go. Reminds me of New Orleans who used that strategy to three 7-9 seasons.  I would rather have a dominating defense and decent offense than the other way around. Most times great defense beats great offense

I don't necessarily disagree. We just have most of our resources tied up in offense so we kinda have play that way. Harder to build those great defenses. We almost made it work, but everyone here knows how that turned out.

I am sure that New Orleans felt the same way.  It is hard to field both a great offense and defense especially paying a Qb 30. Million. Add Jones's 20 million a year and that is 50 million tied up with only 2 players. Teams like KC made out finding a great QB like Mahomes on a rookie deal.

We have the most expensive defensive line in the NFL.

I think far too much is made of the NE "experience". It's not like former NE players (or coaches for that matter) are sewing greatness across the NFL when they leave Foxborough.

    • We can't afford to reach for one of the first round QBs this year. I would love for nothing more than Bryce to be the reason we don't even scout the bastards
