they didnt fail under Magic, Magic did exactly what he said he was going to do in that year he was with the team. the Lakers are run like poo but it doesnt matter because they are in LA and that makes everything better.

The Hornets could become the LA Hornets and the Lakers could become the Charlotte Lakers and with no other change, the LA Hornets would instantly become one of the league's hottest FA spots.

No.

Got any names?

Just off the top of my head, Metta World Peace and Steve Nash would've instantly been major cogs here.

It's also worth noting that the Lakers were both cap-stretched due to Kobe, and later tanking, for several seasons -- and still managed to land a superteam in the offseason. Think the Hornets can pull off the same thing in a couple years?

Artest was over a decade ago and he really wasn't all that for the Lakers.  Certainly not an All-NBA player like Big Al Jefferson was for the Bobnets.

Nash signed with the Lakers in year 17 of an 18 year career....Tony Parker signing with the Bobnets was just as meaningful as Nash signing with the Lakers.

Want to to take another shot at any meaningful signings by Lakers in the decade prior to Lebron?

Why? All you’re doing is dissing whoever I mention. I don’t get your point in attempting to disagree that LA is a bigger FA destination.
