Which home game this year is a must see

Trying to talk my son-In-law into driving to Charlotte this season to watch a game. He’s a die-hard Pats fan, born in R.I. so if the Pats were playing us it would definitely be that game.

Are there any teams on the schedule besides the usual division rivals that fans get more excited for? This would be my first game in Charlotte so I want it to be special.

Tampa Bay in London.  I will be there.   It would be a serious disappointment to lose. Yeah I know it is a home game technically for Tampa and an away game for us but since I am traveling to see London and going thousands of miles to the game, it the most important game short of the NFCCG which will be held in BOA in the playoffs if everything goes according to plan.

You said aside from division rivals so it's gotta be the Rams.  Everyone, players and fans, will be chompin' at the bit for the 1st game and against the NFC champs no less.  An argument could be made for the Seahawks but it will be so late in the season who knows if either of the teams will be in the hunt for the playoffs.  Better go see the Rams.

Rams in the home opener, Falcons, Seahawks or the Saints in the home closer.   If things go well, the last home game in December versus the Saints would be the one I would rate highest.  I plan on being at that myself!  Falcons for obvious reasons and we play the Seahawks so often that they are a rival even though the are obviously in another division.

First 2 home games are both huge... if we can defeat the reigning NFC Champs in Week 1 and follow it up on a short week (at home) against TB (Gerald McCoy revenge Bowl) with 2 wins, we will be 2-0 with a mini bye.

If we can start 2-0, my expectations for the season will be sky-high.

Rams followed by titans.

Rams because not just first game of the year, but game against the best in the conference last year. I don't think they will be the threat they were, but still a threat and it will be a good litmus test for where they are rolling into the season.

Titans because first home game after the bye and getting ready to roll into a brutal part of the schedule. This is a game that EVERYTHING should be clicking and all kinks should be worked out. If we have trouble vs. the Titans here, we'll have a lot more trouble down the road. Again, a good litmus test for where the team is.

I remember the game where some rams DB was talking smack to Smitty all game...then Steve worked him on the goal line for a TD...one of my fav Smitty games

we were talking about this last week.  Skip ahead to 7:38, watch the master clowning Janoris Jenkins.

Any of the division rivals other than Tampa are always big games and Seattle has turned into a decent rival.  Any NFL game is fun, but if I had a choice I'd pick one of the games I just mentioned.

    • We will draft Walker over Mykel if he’s there
    • Your thoughts? I don't think the trade up or even down value system stays exactly in place this year. Look at all the bad trades that hurt teams that give away too much (49ers for Lance, even us w/the Bears set us back). What trade up except Mahomes/KC was it really a great trade for the team giving up a lot? Same with trading down. Teams will know you don't want to pick and they won't be giving the store to move up because there is not a generational talent to do that for. Now, I believe these possibilities.  The Giants probably won't take QB-Sanders at 3, it's too much pressure if it doesn't work. They don't really need another edge rusher with Carter. I can see them possibly saving face, trade down to even the Panthers at 8 but not asking for a kings ransom. A 1st round swap, a 3rd and 4th and maybe next years 2nd and 4th could be enough without giving up too much. The Giants save in pay and in public opinion and then they can take Sanders or even another QB. For the Panthers to drop down, it has to mean their top 3 picks are not there. Do they take TE-Warren if he drops in their lap at 8 (I do like that)? I believe they would love to drop back but again I don't think teams will pay a lot to move up unless they want a QB before the Saints (our only hope for a good value).  I'm not picking a player, just thinking of the draft in general and value. Reaching doesn't work and more and more teams are realizing that.
    • With the new DL, we should be better at edge by simple addition.   What player would have the biggest impact on the Panthers?  I still see the plan to trade back and take Emmanwori if we can find a trade partner.  Why, you ask?  S is a huge need and they have really only looked at 1 visits/meetings.  We will try to trade up for Princely in the second.  A WR in the third  (Bech or Noel).
