Too Much Sportsmanship?

When you are a role model, and yes sadly athletes are role models, there is no reason to be a thug like ray lewis.

The difference?

Ray lewis is a thug.

Polamalu is a tough guy

Why is Ray Lewis a thug? He's the most respected defensive player in the league..When was the last time ESPN said anything negative about him? So is Terrel Owens a thug?

no Terrel Owens is a crybaby

Maybe it is just me, I just have no tolerance for a guy with his rap sheet that broadcasters constantly talk about and put the camera on.

Reggie White was a role model..but I can't think of too many others.

yes, he was a great person on and off the field.

I'm pretty sure that when you arrange a plea bargain to lesser charges and you agree to testify against a couple of other people to avoid MURDER CHARGES, you can be classified as a thug.

You do have a point..but that was years ago..That was a rough segment in his life and im pretty sure GOD has forgiven the man just like the rest of the league. Since then he has been a face of the NFL and a fan favorite..Or do you go by Once a thug always a thug?

Thugs easily be forgiven and no longer labeled a thug, but i cant name any because the media focus is on the thugs. Pacman still a thug. Plaxico still a thug. Ray Lewis acts like a thug on the field, but he may very well be a good person off the field.

The NFL is moving away from Faces like Ray Lewis and going toward Manning and Peterson models now. A very good move for the viewing of the youth.

I have a lot of respect for Ray Lewis as a player, maybe not so much as a person. But you cannot argue with what he has done on the field. I would love a leader like this on our team. This man is the most intense player I have ever seen. With that said, although he didn't have a great game, I'm a big Jon Beason fan. He is intense and a natural leader.

I remember getting pissed about this during the game too. And if I recall correctly I dont remember seeing any blue shirts helping our guys up.

Our D is getting the ball run up their a$$ and then helping the guy up so he can do it again. What a joke. Its a violent game, period. You wanna shake hands at the end of the game fine. You dont waste your damn energy pickin the other team, who just embarrassed you, off the ground.
