ESPN ranks NFL offenses

Based on last year I would say it is about right.  However, I think that this will be a to 10 offense by the end of the season if Cam's shoulder is fully healed and the O-line can provide good protection.   The weapons are there even if some of them they are not household names yet, namely the WRs.  Our WR corps will be the strength of the offense when it is all said and done, IMO.

The Patriots in the top 10 makes no sense. Who do they have other than a couple decent rbs? They have a nearly 40 year old Ben Watson replacing Gronkowski and an even less remarkable recieving corps than they had last year, which is saying something. I would rank then under the Panthers. Seems at every skilled position the Panthers have more talent.

Uuuuuh...wat? I am not sure there is a safer bet than the Pats being a top 10 offense. Let me give you some examples(say, the last decade).

These are their NFL ranks in Points Scored and Total Offensive Yards.

2018: 4/5
2017: 2/1
2016: 3/4
2015: 3/6
2014: 4/11
2013: 3/7
2012: 1/1
2011: 3/2
2010: 1/8
2009: 6/3
2008: 8/5

You convinced yet?

Did you read the article? This isn't a ranking of the best offenses. It's a ranking of who has the best wr, rb and te combination. It specifically excludes the qb, coaching, oline, etc.

So you're telling me that if you took Brady and Belicheck out of the equation, their current group of offensive skilled players is top 10 in the league? Look at their current roster. Ben Watson is their only tight end of substance and he's 38 years old. Julian Edelman is a solid wr but who's their number 2? Phillip Dorsett? You convinced yet?

Yeah, yet he still ranks them #9. You know why? Because for all his disclaimers about not including the QB in his rankings, he still is saying that offense "...is going to work fine."

Why? Because he IS considering Tom Brady part of that ranking, despite what he says. You can pretty much see the evidence that he is considering QB's all across his rankings, for that matter.
