A scenario many won't want to hear

I'd be fine with that scenario. If Moore comes in and does a bang-up job, which saves Fox's job (and I'm still not sure this is the case either way), then this would be a good thing, imo.

Contrary to popular opinion, I like Hurney and think he's done an overall great job for us. Evey player is a chance, and every chance has it to be a stinker on occasion. Hurney has more good than bad in his tick mark column, even with the franchise of Pep and the rework of Jake, and has built a talented team overall.

Fox is Fox, and his winning percentage speaks volumes. Is he a little hard-headed and loyal? Sure, but that's something a lot of players look for when thinking of going to a new team. What Fox truly needs is someone to sit him down now and then, and ground him to reality. Sometimes folks just need a swift kick in the ass to remind them how to act appropriately in the best interests of their family/job/team/whatever. In this one regard, I feel Hurney really needs to step it up, and Fox would be fine.

Fox is still regarded as one of the best coaches in the league and rightfully so. In fact, I don't want fox to leave. I still think that all this team needs is a better starting guard and a QB.

Ideally we salvage the season, have a solid draft picking up a better WR or DE in the second and some value in the third and sign Jason Campbell or Alex Smith or some young veteran FA QB and go from there.

If Moore were to come in and save the season...or if he just comes in and does better than Jake, I think that makes Fox look worse. Jake did not just have 1 bad game last year. There were signs of problems much earlier than Arizona. Fox exhibited very poor judgment in leaving this team so unprepared at QB. He is not interested in having a good QB, he just wants one that is not terrible. Well, when you stick with "not terrible" when he does not have "It" anymore, look what you've got.

Just think what this offense could like like with a pretty good QB out there. It is not just Jake, but Foxy's philosophy and judgment that are flawed. And what we know about Fox is that he does not adjust until he is forced into it.

Alicia Keys...I wouldn't be able to handle just one!

Carmen Electras...pass

Halle Berrys...maybe two.

Kim Cardasians...pass

Gabriele Unions...Just the thought has done me in for the day.

Anjelina Jolies...pass

Lil' Kims...no want

Kelly Ripas...can I kill her?

Buffie The Bodies...I have no idea who this is.

Couldnt agree with ya more. If you tell a QB not to lose the game, then dont expect him to win it! If Moore doesnt start this week, with Jake at 13 picks, whats that say about your decision to keep him? So you have 5 QB's on the roster and none of them can play? So in the past few years, during the Fox era, we couldnt draft a QB in the top 4 rounds? We draft a backup RB in the first and a backup DE in the second (which was really a first) but never a QB.

There was a time when (and God, do I hate them) the Dallas Cowgirls said enough bad play was enough for Drew Bledsoe. The guy had a decent career, went to a super bowl and lost, and had up and down seasons after that (sound familiar). They finally realized what needed to be done, and they made the change to Tony Romo. He came out like gang busters. I'm not saying that the same formula will work here, but it could. We have plenty of great components to this team, and I hate to see frustration boil to the point we may jeopardize the spark they bring week in and week out. Bledsoe reached a point where he was just done, you could tell with his bad throws, getting sacked, and I think his team gave up on him, but they rallied around the un-proven youngster.

Is this Panthers team ready to rally around a young guy looking for his opportunity? The time is now.

(And yes, I realize that Romo is not an MVP now and he can't win a playoff game, but I wasn't going THAT far with my analogy.)

At this point, i'll take Matt Moore being a clone of Romo over how Jake Delhomme is playing.

The thing about Romo is that all the playoff loses aren't just his fault. If you remember their playoff game against the Giants, you would know he had 2 wide open perfect TD passes dropped in the endzone which would have put the game out of hand.

Just saying..

I think Jake deserved the chances that Fox gave him. He hasn't been a BAD QB in the past as he has done a lot of good for this franchise. There was no reason after the Arizona game to think that Jake had lost everything. He had made a lot of plays during the season for me to be very happy with his performance (until the playoffs). No one just loses ability that fast (without some kind of injury). Something snapped in his mind during that Arizona game and I think benching him is ending his career once and for all. However, he has been given enough opportunity to turn things around, and I just don't see him getting over whatever mental block is hindering his play. Jake needs a psychiatrist or Jesus before this Arizona game, and if he doesn't deliver (assuming he starts) his career is over. Benching someone who is having confidence issues is a hard decision for a coach to make, because the only way to build confidence is through success on the field. That could explain why we have been passing a lot more than we should, as the coaches are getting desperate for Delhomme to have a little success and turn himself around. If Jake is benched, his play here is over. Bottom Line. None of our backups are ready to turn the whole team around. Either Jake gets better, or things get a lot worse for us this season. I like Moore and I think he can do well with a seasons worth of starts under his belt, but starting Moore is the same as declaring a rebuilding status for our team.
