Tough break for the young man, here's hoping he and everyone else recovers the best they can from this. His life's trajectory will certainly change and I hope he can cope well with that, it may have been a miracle that it didn't end.

As someone who has gone thru that same thing, I feel for him.  He’s got some dark days ahead.  If he can fight thru the transition without falling into the “why me?” trap he’ll be fine.  If not, well, that’s when things get ugly.

All my prayers for ya bud.  Besides, doing stuff with one hand makes you a bad-ass at everything.

Terrible thing to have to go thru. One minute you’re an NFL player and the next minute you’re getting an arm cut off. 

With all the advances in technology I wouldn’t be surprised to see this guy stick around

they had to fly a surgeon out to the scene of the wreck and amputate his arm there.  I'm hoping they were able to give him anesthesia.   Either way it's a horrible story.

Legs and feet are where the technology has really knocked it out of the park.

The human hand is so complicated and sensitive its damn near impossible to recreate.  Im 18 years without my right hand and haven't found a prosthetic that's worth a damn yet.

Now being reported that the accident was his fault, and that he was not wearing his seat belt.  I feel for the guy, but damn, that's going to be hard to get over from a psychological perspective.
