Those sitting there saying they wouldnt care about their madden ratings

what if your manhood was measured and posted on a very popular platform, and you were shorter than you really are? youd be irked!

there are couch potato belly button lint eaters in here claiming its childish when they have no concept of being a professional athlete where competition is prime.

I am showing my age or more accurately the fact I grew up without being addicted to video games or even a cellphone. I also understand that many players are fond of social media and are gaming enthusiasts. But it is a game which doesn't necessarily mirror reality and hardly impacts how they do their job or what they get paid.  I get it, but also find it humorous that players care enough to actually comment on it. Then again what don't people comment on these days.  If I see one more plate of food showing what people had for dinner ............

Last line really tickled me and it happens to be so true .

So only professional athletes are competitive? I have seen folks get into a rumble over Bingo. Give me a break.

You are competitive when it comes to getting the last word in a message thread and you aren't alone.  Many of us played sports at the highest level we could and rarely played without keeping score or busting a nut or gut trying to win. Still Madden is a video game it isn't real life. And complaining about wanting a speed rating of 97 because it is only a 95 is pretty petty. No one is talking about Johnsom length.

Too stereotypical.  I work with families and kids everyday. I am a scout leader for the past 30 years.  I probably am more involved in youth activities than most on here. The fact I see little value in videogames and think it is funny that folks are overly engaged in telling everything they think or feel to the world in social media hardly makes me an old curmudgeon.  Just like I don't think that all millenials  are self-centered, shallow, selfish money grubbers who expect to be handed everything who all want to make a living playing video games.

Trade the video games for real estate or stocks and you sound like a millennial describing Boomers.

Video games are the only medium that's gotten better with time.  You won't find any modern gamer saying, "Man, I can't wait till they re-release Pong." Love them or hate them, they aren't going away.  I personally loathe the Madden franchise and haven't bought it in 10 years or so.  That said I'm mid-30s playing RDR2 on my giant 4k flat screen.

Sure beats watching Friends and Seinfeld re-runs.

I have no problem with video games in moderation or Madden as a game. It isn't the video games at all, it is how folks act like video games mimic real life or that for example a speed rating mimics real football and if it isn't accurate, it is a big deal.  I don't play video games much but that is just because I didn't grow up playing them. I just thought is was funny he tweeted after the race that he wanted a bump up in rating and that players followed that stuff. It isn't surprising, just funny to me.
