Boston area NBC sports guy "it's sad to see what's happening in Charlotte"

WFNZ's afternoon show just had a guy from NBC Boston on

-shocked and turned heads around from people he knows to see the Hornets be so Aggressive and pay Rozier as much as they did

-people scratching their heads of MJ refusing to bottom out.

- people think Hornets should bottom out and Rozier is good enough to get them 35 wins..

-mentioned Celtics where they are now from drafting Tatum and Brown in the top 5 which the 2 enticed others to come.

- "Rozier keeps the Hornets in that Hampster wheel to no where, which people say is just sad to see"

- no one seems to understand the Hornets and they have no identity

Then went on to talk about Kemba

Hornets front office don't even have a  clue as to what the hell they are doing. I made the tough decision to stop supporting the team a few seasons back and haven't watched a game since. If everyone else did the seem then maybe real change will occur. But people keep supporting the poo show

I can't see that kind of success with the guys I am looking at on our roster. It's a pitiful lot, really.

Maybe if Bridges takes a few steps to being a 18-20ppg guy, Washington has a good rookie season, Rozier blows up for 20, 5 and 7.

Yeah, and that is an awful lot of "ifs." I mean, I guess the production is going to have to come from somewhere. We were such a Kemba dominant team, I am not even sure what we will look like in the long term without him.

The plan appears to be-- we can't *afford* to tank and can't afford to really build a roster. So, we're gonna try and keep it status quo for 2 years then spend again in FA, trades, and hope a draft pick works out. If that all fails after that... Probably will be back in cap hell and waiting to squeak through that.

Didn’t you work for the Bobcats some time ago?  I’m thinking that was you for some reason.

I'm not exactly sure who's going to score on this team.  I think 30 is the ceiling, and even that is way too many for what we should be trying to accomplish.

I imagine it will be guys like Rozier, Monk, Bridges, Bacon, etc. We will have some of the young players step up and some of the role playing vets(Batum, Williams, Zeller) will have to increase their production. We will be able to score, but winning will be difficult.

    • I find it more like now that I have been forced to watch Young so much it isn’t as much of a shock to my senses.   Desensitized they call it.   For real, it just looks normal almost now. Where the first game of 2023 I wasn’t sure what I was looking at it was so out of bounds for NFL type play. I literally couldn’t make sense of what I had seen vs Atlanta that first week.
    • Lynch in SF. Great is subjective but he has done pretty well there.
    • Sure, except Stroud has the ability to stretch the field with deep passes. He did that often last night with ease, but couldn’t connect on many due to being flustered by the defense. BY9 gets flustered and can’t throw screens, let alone even think about any deeper passes. Stroud would’ve changed the franchise and done more with the situation last year. My thought at least.    the hope is that last year showed tepper that he needed to step back from football decisions. There’s a positive in most situations and maybe we’ll see a new tepper in the near future.
