After going down to the wire in the best game of the season a few days ago vs. Boston, the Knicks laid down tonight at home against the Heat. Alot of NYers and Knicks fans took shots at the King this summer when he rejected them. Many of them called him a "sidekick" and said he was foolish to pass up a chance to play in "the greatest city in the world". Well tonight, the King posts 32 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists in a 22 point blowout over the Knicks. The Heat D was able to keep Amare under 30 points, the first team to do so in 8-9 games. The Heat D is now the best in the league holding teams under 91 points a contest. 11 game winning streak for LeBron and the Heat. These guys are starting to gel and click.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP)—Danny Granger had 30 points and a season-high 12 rebounds to help the Indiana Pacers beat Cleveland 108-99 on Friday night, extending the Cavaliers’ losing streak to 10 games.

The Cavs longest losing streak since 2003 the year they tanked to get The King. 2 losses already to the King and his new team both home & away. They are at the bottom of the Central division. Hmmmmm.....

The NBA has waited seven years for a playoff matchup between Bryant and James. James’ Cavaliers beat the Lakers on Christmas last year in a game punctuated by dozens of foam hands thrown onto the Staples Center court by frustrated fans, but Cleveland couldn’t get out of the Eastern Conference in the playoffs, leading to James’ departure.

“I was in Cleveland and we beat the two-time champs twice in one season, and it didn’t get me anything,” James said. “It’s one game, guys. The media guys hype it up, but when that time is over and done with, we’ve got to move on to the next one.”

Wade might miss the game with a sore knee, although Jackson expects him to play. Wade’s absence didn’t slow down the Heat on Thursday night during their win at Phoenix, with James scoring 36 points.

THE KING OF LA: LEBRON JAMES

LOS ANGELES (AP)—LeBron James had 27 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists while hitting a season-high five 3-pointers, and the Miami Heat thrived on the holiday stage in a 96-80 victory over Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday.

Chris Bosh(notes) had 24 points and 13 rebounds, and Dwyane Wade(notes) added 18 points on a sore knee for the Heat, who won for the 14th time in 15 games while flustering the defending champions into a terrible offensive performance.

Although both teams called this game a television curiosity rather than a potential NBA finals preview, it clearly meant something to James, who outplayed Bryant again in his second straight Christmas win at Staples Center.

Bryant and Pau Gasol scored 17 points apiece for the Lakers, who fell behind early.

27 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists. Christmas Day, F'd around and got a triple double! Another big game, and another 20 point blowout handed out by the King.

What did Kobe Bryant do today? Another sub .500 shooting performance. Head to head, the King always gets the best of Kobe. 9-5 all time. Remember that when yall talk about "clutch" and stepping up in "big games". His fans have to mentally blank these guys out of their memory, because even in LA, LeBron shows he is MVP of this league. How many basketball players in the world can drop a triple double on the Lakers and outplay Kobe Bean Bryant in LA? Only 1....THE KING!!! He's already a HOFer, he's already the best in the game, now he wants a title, he wants a ring. He wants immortality, as all kings do. If the Heat continue to defend like this, and step up against the big boys of the NBA, he will get his championship.
